So check to see first, what is actually installed; 1x 8GB or 2x 4GB
If 2x 4GB then you will have to remove those if you wish to upgrade the RAM.
If 1x 8GB and wish to add a 2nd 8GB to get 16GB Total
Power off the system, open the bottom cover, look at the sticker on the RAM to see the Model & Type (DDR3L or DDR4)
Lookup the model# printed on the sticker, that should reveal the specs of the current RAM.
Like this for example:
http://d2ydh70d4b5xgv.cloudfront.net/images/1/e/samsung-4gb-1rx8-pc4-17000-pc4-2133p-ddr4-260pin-sodimm-ram-laptop-memory-module-afd17ee082ba379acd84532e461e64e8.jpg
PC3 = DDR3
PC4 = DDR4
But again check the exact model.
And Laptop RAM are all "SO-DIMM" types
That is why I would advise never buy such cheap models; MSI GT is much better overall.
GS is thin; which usually means you end up with a Motherboard layout as it is.
Here is how to dissemble MSI GS70 models.
However this differs a bit depending on older GS70 -vs- newer GS70 models.
For some, the RAM slots are located on the Keyboard side; so yes it must be taken apart nearly completely to get to that side of the Motherboard.

While some of those models, are like this:

^ In this model, only the base/bottom cover needs to be removed to gain access to the RAM slots.
Did you get an SSD + HDD in your Laptop? That would be much more beneficial; with OS on SSD and HDD for general storage or lesser demanding games that wouldn't benefit from faster loading times when on SSD.
To be honest I don't have any issues with 8GB of RAM. I play Witcher 3 on Uber (without few things on like nVidia Hairworks) smoothly with 30 FPS. It's just I see that recommend settings on new games is 16GB of RAM.
Do you think that it's not worth it and I won't feel any difference between current 8 and future 16GB?
