Anyone using a Gigabyte 990FX G1 Gaming motherboard with FX9590 ??
I'm getting alot of instability issue's due to the CPU, it's making my system hang a bit and it's causing my system to lock up(freeze) quite reuglary, all my drivers are upto date, fresh install of windows 10

I've noticed on my temperature mointoring software aswel that while idle the CPU reads as low as 2C, and the most I've noticed it reach was 63C at the menu of Endless Legend during window mode

At first ~I thought it was a windows issue but noticed online that it's a problem with the CPU itself, and by disabling the CPU Turbo fixed the issue, the problem is I've looked in the BIOS and I get no such option for a Turbo

I've since replaced the 9590 with a 8350 and PC is fine, no issue's even get stable temps of around 10/15C while Idle and around 40 while in game

Thanks

You can usually find Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 at a decent discount.
The newer R3.0 (retails for $200 USD) really is not a huge improvement over the R2.0

Overall, your board should be fine for any FX-8; and 8350 or xx70 are fairly decent; even without any OC'ing

Saber kittys sound isnt as good as the gaming boards, As rock, giga and msi have them and their onboard sound is 2nd to none compared to other onboards

Even those ones labeled "Creative/SoundBlaster Onboard" that is just fancy software. The codec onboard is still Realtek HD. Alienware Laptops say Creative Sound Onboard too; the Codec however is Realtek HD.

I just use a better SB Z PCIE Sound Card anyways.
The R3.0 does have better Onboard Sound, Intel GB-LAN and M.2 Gen3 Slot though.

From what I have seen; that Gigabyte 990FX "Gaming" is no better then the cheaper ones offered by MSI; which generally just can not handle any FX-9 properly.

Most of the issue's the Gigabyte 990FX series have with the FX 9590 come from the Gigabyte 990FXA models not the 990FX G1 gaming model

But anyway Thanks for your help, I appreciate it, I've since been offered a refund so all is good, glad you responded to my discussion, because you gave me some insight between the FX8's and 9's and managed to save me near enough 200bucks, else I would've just accepted the replacement FX9590

So thanks for that :)

The main reason I went for the Gigabyte because of the Audio :)
They also have good NIC. I used to use a pci ex version of the killernetworking cards. Has its own cpu and ram.
The best NIC is an Intel GB-LAN; hands down, nothing beats those.
Killer ones (the onboard versions anyways) are complete junk and their software plays havok on WinOS

Havok is caused by its QoS software....

I dont use it. Disable that and you will see a difference.

EDIT: whats the specs on the intel?

Yes but many folks do not know; average users tend to use what is on the Motherboard CD/DVD which yes is sorely outdated and you shouldn't use; if you have KillerNetworking; go grab JUST the Driver alone. But that Driver generally has to be manually installed via Device Manager.

Driver CD clearly shows LAN driver and then LAN (driver only)

Doesnt take much of a rocket scientist to do this let alone inside the NICs control panel unchek, "bandwith controll"

Again, you and I know that; any tech with any sense knows that. The general user does not. Or if they go to download the updated one from the branded board site; they don't necessarily grab the Driver-Only version. Just saying...

Moving on, the OP's questions appear to be answered.
