Best GPU with an FX-6300

I am planning on getting a new i5 setup eventually but am wondering what the best GPU one could use with an Fx-6300 at stock speeds (don't have a good enough mobo to over lock).

Less than $300 preferably.

A sub 300 card would be a bit bottlenecked, still runs but if your goal is 144 hz monitor gaming it wont cut it. Id say see if you can find previous gen used 290 maybe 480 even, 290 was one of the best cards I ever seen, should be cheaper now 2 gens later. GCN compatible just like 3xx and 4xx series

I'd recommend the GTX 1060 6GB. It would 'bottleneck' in CPU intensive games, but the i5 will fix that.

Then why are you basing what he should buy now? For all we know eventually by then theres a next gen card....
