Moving unallocated disk space to C Drive with D drive in the way
I have lots of space on my D Drive that contains games and lots of stuff on it however my C drive has pretty much run out of space how would I go about using the unallocated space from my D drive to extend my C drive without deleting the D Drive

So, what kind of drives you got? What's installed where?

Considering Steam, you can just create a library on D, if you haven't already, and just move games there.

You can ofc. screw around with links and just move files, but i'd recommend you not to do so.

C Drive contains mostly windows stuff and some other softwares while the D Drive is all game related stuff, I have lots of spare space on the D Drive but like 3GB on C Drive and im struggling to find stuff to remove anymore

Size and kind of C drive?

Tried to remove old windows files via disk cleanup?
(press WINkey+R, type cleanmgr, new window appears, select button "cleanup system files", and well, rest is self explaining)

Uninstall the software on c drive and reinstall it on d drive

Or buy bigger drive and clone your existing drive to your new drive.

Its all one drive I just partitioned it into to seperate locations (C and D) Removing old window files only gives me a few gb's

Edit: Its an SSD

What was the point in that? Just making things more complicated for yourself.

I assume it's an SSD?
Why the heck would you do that.

IMHO, there's several ways to do it properly, but if not done properly you end up with a headache.
So my suggestion would be: delete your game partition D, expand partition C (can even be done with windows partition manager), reinstall your games. Profit.

I did it years ago not realising, liked the idea of having the games separately, Im just gonna buy a new SSD soon and transfer it all across, is there an easy way to do that instead of reinstalling everything etc

We talk about Steam, or generally?
If Steam related it's super simple:
- copy one Steam folder with the name "steamapps", and the steam.exe
- copy it back to a target destination, and run the steam.exe
- that's it

Hehe, don't we all sometimes.

With battle.net it's similarly easy, you can basically reinstall bnet on C later, and copy back game folders. For the other launchers there's other approaches.

Anyways, you still didn't answer my original question considering kind and size of drives.

C Drive has 150 GB of space, I just deleted some things and moved things to D drive, its at 12GB free now and my D Drive has 781GB with 278GB free

Even though i do recommend you to rethink your partitions, you could try this:
https://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free
(to free more space on your C drive)

Anyways, glad your issue did improve.

Thanks, I guess sooner or later im either gonna end up resetting windows or buying a new SSD and slowly but surely transferring it all across from that D partition, the games I dont care about as they can easily be reinstalled

Good that you fixed it. Someone can correct if mistaken, but I think you can only add unallocated space to an adjacent partition.
