I don't understand why, great hardware especially for the price
For example, not wanting to support google, I'm using Ubuntu Touch which I like more than every other android system, but graphene seems to be also very nice, I hope they put up more devices someday.
My only issue with Ubuntu touch is not having the capability to use signal without using another phone to link the account. Also there isnt any hardware capable of having it run fast enough for me to use daily without frustration
Also anyone that buys any android phone supports Google. Ironically, buying a pixel and rooting it doesn't support Google. Sure they get one payment, but zero data, and thats what theye really want
I was ready to get a Pixel 6 as soon as it came out. Then I realized with such good hardware they screwed up the phone by limiting the 50 mp sensor to 12 megapixel photos.
Graphene OS definitely doesn't have the best camera, but I also have a nice DSLR so I don't worry about that so much.
Most people are no phone experts or anything close resembling knowledgeable and they don't want to be.
It is extremely easy. You can do it right from your browser
i am using legionos right now but its got a bunch of glitches. calls not connecting and texts showing up after some time and the like. damn thing goes of sometimes just for the hell of it
how stable is ubuntu?
Um I have a phone where ubuntu touch was preinstalled, so it never came in touch with android or google. It's a local company here in germany, that how I avoided Google :D and mine runs fine actually, don't have any problems, but I also run all my computers on linux so I'm used to do some stuff with console, but some adjustments and I never had a problem again. Gotta agree, it's not for everyone.
Depends on the device actually. I have a phone which is configured for this OS and I gotta say that it runs very stable, just made some adjustments to make it even more stable and powerful. But here is a list of supported devices. That's Ubuntu, you've got the freedom to make it better yourself :D But if something doesn't run, you can also report it as a bug, in my experience they fix it fast.

Actually it's not that easy, depends on the android version, on my old OnePlus 6T, everything after version 9 is pretty difficult in my opinion, because they made the bootloader even more "safe".
