Playstation 5 controller touchpad not working over Steam Link?
The PS5 controller touch pad doesn't respond to anything when I use it over Steam Link (the physical box one), I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this, I wasn't able to find any other mention of this after hours of searching.

The touch pad DOES work when I plug it directly into the PC but I already have several controllers for when I'm at my PC, I seriously need this one to work like it's supposed to.

It might not be supported on the Steam Link box. They stopped supporting that a long time ago before PS5 stuff was even announced. The software on the Steam Link is not the same as the standard Desktop Steam Client.
I guess that does figure. Someday I'll get a new TV I guess, maybe it'll have that Steam Link app.

One thing I did eventually find after tons of searching was someone mentioned, when calibrating the controller, to hit the touchpad instead of the select/share button, to basically force it to use the touchpad for something. Not a perfect solution but I'm going with that at the very least because it's easier to touch for mode shifting, and almost no games really use the select button (but even if they do I can just mode shift something to work as it).

It's not limited to Steam Link. The touchpad is borked on desktop. Switch to stable for the time being.

PS5 owner here. I have never tried a touchpad on PC, but only a few PS5 games that fully supported touchpad. So, may use it as a mouse pointer?

When it's working you can do a lot of stuff with it. Use it as a mouse, buttons, directional swipes, enable gyro, touch menu, radial menu, etc.
