The wire kind of sucks, but you get used to it
So index isn't wireless?
It is not, but the wire is pretty long, and suspension systems for the wire work great. I just leave mine on the floor because I travel for my job and bring it with me
He should have stuck with rocketry.
Okay
Okay, I might just get that one then was thinking about oculus/meta but I don't know who owns it. If Facebook creator owns it then I'm stay away from that one.
Is meta the only one that is wireless?
I think the reverb or the vive might be. Wireless is cool, but you will be limited by image quality. And honestly, the wire really isnt that bIG of a problem once you learn to manage it. I also use a counterweight in the back and run the wire through it to protect it
A counderweight is definitely necessary or your neck will have a bad time
He goes where the real progress seems to be. VR seemed to be the future, (It's part of the future at least, I think.) so he joined up with the fastest rising VR company. I don't think it was his decision to sell to Facebook, but he stuck around for a bit anyway, either to finish contractual obligations or maybe work started. Now, he's focusing on AI. The dude never holds still, and I really admire that about him.
Carmack once said that as long as he has a space to code and pizza, then he's satisfied. It's everyone around him that gets over-ambitious and greedy.
Okay I'll look into it.
I'd say go for Valve Index.
God I cannot wait. I will be buying it the instant I can. VR fps games are basically all I play now
