Also, the quest only has 90 degree FOV. The index has 130, and the resolution is still great for that level of fov

I haven't logged into my Facebook account for months, and yet my Quest 2 is still fully functional. Even it I would use Facebook, I'd be totally fine with Facebook collecting data if that would mean more people being able to afford a VR headset.

If only you knew the weapons they build with this data. Account or not, these devices made by meta harvest a lot of data. It is their primary purpose, and gaming only comes secondary

Im not going to waste time on someone that is fine with being soulcucked. Enjoy your metaverse. Just don't spend all of your metabux in one place or say the next word they decide to be hate speech, or you'll lose your daily bug rations

I'm sorry, but nothing currently on the market can beat Quest 2. Wireless, better resolution than Index, 120 Hz, all for $500. And it can play both its own and also PCVR games.

As for the Facebook account requirement, that's not the case anymore. You can use an Oculus account too if you wish.

When I contacted the company meta that owns occulas they said they will require people to have a meta account soon whatever that is.

So do you know what the meta account is? That only thing stopping me because if it Facebook then no way I am buying that thing because Facebook bans felons and I don't agree with that. I am aware of the occulas accounts also aware they don't require Facebook accounts anymore as they told me that but they said they will require a meta account soon.

Does the wire on index put any pressure on your back at all after long hours? I might just get that If I can't figure out what wireless one I should get as I want to play a lot of games on vr not limited. Can that vr handle all the games or only certain ones.

Honestly the wire is not an issue at all once you learn to manage it
