♥♥♥♥ meta. You wont regret the index
It's old and overpriced. It's like recommending a Vive or a CV1 at their initial retail prices. I'm in agreement over Meta, though.

I disagree. 1000 for trackers, controllers, widest FOV and refresh rate, with the resolution it has is not a bad price. Its not great, but its worth it even being as expensive as it is. Plus the warranty on it is pretty good. Nothing really comes close to the overall quality and experience yet for the price range

Index v2 is in development and it is going to be wireless.

:qr:

God I cannot wait. I will be buying it the instant I can. VR fps games are basically all I play now

I'll probably get one too but I still want to see if it will be better quality than the current wired index. Wireless is a nice feature but not if image quality is a downgrade just to make it work.

Okay, I might just get that one then was thinking about oculus/meta but I don't know who owns it. If Facebook creator owns it then I'm stay away from that one.
Meta is Facebook's new name. Facebook is the name of the social media site now.

I'd say go for Valve Index.

Occlus was renamed to meta. You can still buy Occlus quest 2 but if you go to their official site it called meta now with differences.

Links to this? And will it be the steam buy process all over again. Idk how people get in line so fast.
For $399 the Reverb G2 is the best bang for the buck right now if you want a pc only HMD. The display is much better than the index but the controllers are worse. Worse NOT BAD. The G2 uses inside out tracking whereas the index uses external sensors you set up in your play space.

It is wired with wireless capabilities.

Look up the patent yourself "Valve Index new patent."

Then it isn't wireless if it is wired. Unless it only wired to charge it, but will it let you customize headset, to set different head length since some people have big heads. But also if you can't provide a link, then I assume it isn't true, please provide links to what your talking about.

So the controller can intertwine with other vr headsets?

Okay
It’s quite expensive though. $399 for the reverb and then between the sensors and controllers along with another dongle you’re probably looking at close to $1300.
I'm sorry, but nothing currently on the market can beat Quest 2. Wireless, better resolution than Index, 120 Hz, all for $500. And it can play both its own and also PCVR games.

As for the Facebook account requirement, that's not the case anymore. You can use an Oculus account too if you wish.

All while meta harvests your actual soul from your body

Great!

Also, the quest only has 90 degree FOV. The index has 130, and the resolution is still great for that level of fov

I haven't logged into my Facebook account for months, and yet my Quest 2 is still fully functional. Even it I would use Facebook, I'd be totally fine with Facebook collecting data if that would mean more people being able to afford a VR headset.
