Reset Windows (keeping own files) and make sure all drivers are working properly . Also ,errors are of some kind , you can post it as well

" My game files corrupt every time I try to download a game " define corrupt. Does the download complete?
" and I've tried about 50 different things to patch this," xplain how you would patch a download incomplete games?
This makes no sesne needs a heck of a lot more details to figure out what your talking about.
We are all ears.

So whats happening is it fully downloads everything then verifies at the end, and then it stops downloading, and where you see the data of your download like how many mb/s you're getting or what not, it says download files corrupted, and then an option to try again, which doesnt work, so its not just a fluke. I'm also exaggerating things because im very tired, but I tried deleeting my steam library folder, reinstalling steam, clearing my web cache, deleeting like all files relating to steam and then redownloading, I've done a lot, but its downloading corrupted files is what im seeing, I saw something saying I need to download uptodate downloading drivers, but those are already up to date.

Is the game installing to local drive or USB?
1 main thing come to mind, background security and maybe firewall antivirus
If your antivirus mistakenly quarantines some of your game files, Steam may label that as a corrupt content file issue. Or your antivirus might be deleting the update game files before Steam copies them to the game location.
Temporarily disable anti virus software
Also delete Steam downloads cache.

Its installing on a 1.9TB usb drive, I dont have any vpn's or antivirus running, that I know of, and I have cleared steam download cache multiple times as I said as one of my attempts to patch it.

If it is a USB thumb drive I believe you are sol. I do not know of any game that will install to a thumb drive or optical drive because of pirating issues. You must install to a hard drive.

I also should mention that I have had no previous problems with steam before this, especially coming from my computers settings/hardware, and none of that has been updated before/during/after all these problems with steam.

How fast is your internet?
Close everything out capable of using the internet, programs/processes etc.

Have you tried downloading or moving the game to your main drive to fix it then transfer it back to the USB drive?

And just for the hell of it
What is the brand of the USB drive? are you sure its a legit model with correct size and not a fake?
That happens to me when my internet slows down drastically. It's a network related issue. We need better internet.

@ rallicknom
I have my games on a USB drive 4 TB WD, its set as default and all game downloads are downloaded to that . No problems with speed ever.

AnyTypeOfTypica, since it just started recently all I can add.
Is space a problem with your HDD?
Do you own the game and this is a patch for it?
Which game is it?
Try running the game with administrative privilages. Go to the Steam directory / common and rightclick this game 's .exe and run as administrator .
If you have enoughh space on the system drive try changing the default downloads library in the Steam storage manager to windows system drive incase its a speed transfer issue to the usb drive. Once downloaded and installed successfully you can move the installation files of that game to your USB drive. Rightclick that game in your library proprties.>local files>move install folder.
