It seems like this may answer your question.

1 x CPU Fan connector(s) (1 x 4-pin)
1 x CPU OPT Fan connector(s) (1 x 4-pin)

what are those? :3
fan "headers"
CPU fan = the cooler on your CPU
CPU Opt fan = I guess if you want to put a 2nd fan on your CPU cooler
Chassis fan = Fans for your case.

It only supports a max of 2 fans on a case, but you can probably get a fan splitter to accomodate more or connect them to the molex power.

but if I get a fan 'splitter'

does that not mean I cannot control them?

I want to put around 4 fans in my case, which MOBO do you recommend?
you can always get two quiet fans with molex psu connectors it would be difficult to find 4 independant case fan connectors.. then youll have 2 quiet full speed 2 based on temps or however you set them in bios

You can still control them, together of course. 2 fans on a Y cable to a single header will both act in unison.

You'd be able to use about 6 fans total, if you use Y splitters, on that mobo. Even though it says CPU opt, it doesn't have to be used for the CPU.

Even if the mobo doesn't have enough headers, you can get adapters that will allow you to control several more fans off one header. It will supply power via sata but will be controllable via header, all in unison of course.
If you use a Y-adapter for 3/4pin Fan Header; controlling the speed for that header would result it both fans connected to the Y-adapter changing speed. However only one of those fans can be monitored via the rpm sensor.
