Core i7 7700k and 32 GB DDR 4 4000 MHZ or wait(if my pc survives till then) for PCI 4.0?
My pc has started sicne May slowly getting destoryed. Piexe by piece. What is happening realy
is that the motherboard has been damaged since then and because of that some ports stopped working. It all started when one day suddenly mouse stopped working. I then changed it to another port and it worked again. Few days ago hoever even more ports has been damaged since this time both keyboard and mouse stopped working! Again i connected them to others ports and now they work ok but the damage has been doen since i have 2 less ports working now
And because of that iam wondering what should it be best to do? Wait until end of 2017 that the rumored pci 4.0 motherboards release and then change cpu rand ram and motherboard?

Or wait until January 2017 where kabylake release and then buy this with pci 3.0 motherboard and ddr 4 ram?

Full pc specs are
I5 2500K overclocked to 4.2 ghz
12 gb ddr 3 1600 mhz
gtz 970 g1 gaming 4 gb
dellp2416d 24'' 1440p 60 hz ips
asusp8p67le(motherboard)
windows 10 pro 64 bit
320 GB + 1 TB HDD
650 watt psu(dont remeber the model)

PC as it is right now it still run all new games at max settings 1440p most of them at 40+ fps so here is no realy reason to upgrade it yet but what is happening now(it getting damaged destroyed due to old age) is forcing me to upgrade sooner than what i originaly planned

So what do you suggest me to do? Buy on Janurary or wait until pci 4.0 if motherboard still survives till then?

Wait for i7 7700K/Zen should make for an interesting time. I am and I have an i7 930@3.5 :)

I have problems with motherboard ports when I heavily OC, you could always try winding the OC back a tad.
Wait for 7700k or also for pci 4.0 motherboards that will be end of 2017 or begining of 2018? It all depends if motherboard still working till then that the issue here. So go and buy 7700k and ddr 4 ram on January when it releases or later?
Personally, I will wait to see what performance Amd Zen offers. I may even get an i7 6800k,
not overly bothered by Pci 4, as I don't think even Pci 2 is oversaturated at the moment for a single gpu.

If you are waiting until 2018, you may as well get the rumoured 6 core coffeelake.

Edit: Intel Z270 chipset releases with 7700k.

The only reason to get a pcie 4.0 cpu/board is if you're planning on using a lot of nvme drives. If you're still using hdd + too poor to get bigger ssds, 4.0 won't be of any use to you.

Either settle for zen/kaby, or get a used z board from ebay. They're like $60-100.
Τhe problem here is that i dont know for how much longer the motherboard will last with the damage it already has. It can stop work at any minute now.. That why iam asking if it best to wait until January since it will be only 3 month wait and get core i7 7000k with ddr 4 4000 mhz or wait until 2018(if it lasts for 1 ,5 years more) and then get the i7 8700k with pci 4.0 motherboard. Should i risk continue using it for so long with the damage it or change it as fast as possible?

Amd is out of the question i will never get amd cpus again. How much faster will 7700k be compared to 2500k

I thought Z170 board makers would just update BIOS for Kaby-Lake CPUs?
Or will that just be a fail, like the whole issues when P67 first came out?

Depends on the games, screen and gpu you have. Digital Foundry has a video on youtube about upgrading the 2500k.

The 7700k at stock is supposedly slightly faster than the 6800k multi-threaded and 15% faster than the 6700k single-threaded.
Well, consider that after Kaby Lake is released there will be a 1-3 month time where it is sold out due to high demand

So IMO, you should just upgrade to an i7-6700k now. Expecting you will be able to find one in January is a pipe dream.

If you wait for Kabylake, you may as well wait for Volta as well. And by the time you have both, it'll almost be time for the next Intel shrink. And by the time that's available, there'll be a refresh about to launch. See the problem?

If you wait for the future to arrive, you'll end up waiting forever. Just buy the most cost-effective PC you can get today.

Upgrading? You need a whole new Motherboard + CPU + DDR4 RAM if you are still using LGA 1155/1150, etc. (such as 2500K/2600K)

I heard and seen the 6800K never was that great; alot of the older 5xxx series 2011 CPUs were better in most respects.

Since your motherboard is showing signs of a possible death, you should upgrade soon. As stated earlier, you could get an i7-6700k since the availability of the i7-7700k will be short for a while. Another suggestion: if mostly gaming, get the i5-7600k 3.8 GHz CPU and use the extra $100 towards a higher-quality motherboard. Then of course, you'll need a new motherboard and RAM anyway. Seeing that you play Mortal Kombat X, you don't need to upgrade the GPU just yet. And also, Mortal Kombat X can certainly do well on an i5 as opposed to an i7. But if you will be streaming, recording, video editing, etc., then the i7-6700k or 7700k is a better choice. Just don't skimp on the motherboard.

I will wait for volta due to the low perfomance nvidia has on dx 12 and also because my 970 can still run all games at max settings 1440p most of them at 40 fps. It is still very good card for gaming since it was a 2014 high end card and because of that it will be ok for another 2 years but 2500k is 5 old already I finished Sbadow warrior 2 1 day ago a game that is made for pc as lead platform and i played max settings 1440p at almost 60 fps and it was looking great. Battlefield 1 that i will buy next week also works at 56 fps 1440p max settings on 970 according to benchmarks and titan falll 2 that i will buy with dishonored 2 and watchdogs 2 on November also are going to run pefectly on 970 1440p max settings(at least watchdogs accorfing to requirementrs). That why i dont need to buy new gpu and instead will wiat for volta. By that time 4k HDR monitor will be avaliable and so i willl buy oe of them too but possibly not in 2018 but in 2019

6th Gen Skylake (like i5-6600K or i7-6700K) + Z170 Motherboard + DDR4 RAM should fair quite a bit better; even with the same GPU.
I will have to think about it. We all know that both 7700k and 8700k or whatever the coffe lake equivalent will be called, will be able to run all games at max settings 4k 60 fps with a powerful gpu for many years so it all depends now on how long the motherboard will last.
