my pc is vibrating.
ok so my computer has a lot of vibration towards it, I don't know if it is the fans or not but it vibrates a lot and makes noise because of it. If I put a disc on the top of my case it literally bounces the disc that's how much it is vibrating. My case is the Thermal Take Core x71 Full Tower, when I press down on the top of the case the vibration stops. I have 2 deep cool 120MM fans on top, and I have a 120MM radiator as well. I do plan on replacing the fans and buying a 360mm radiator instead. Would replacing the fans stop the noise? Is that the cause? Because I also noticed my optical drive is vibrating a lot too, when I press down on the optical drive it doesn't vibrate anymore.

It is the fans.

My guess is both. Forgive me for saying, but Deepcool aren't a great brand. Their fans are badly balanced and do vibrate, but I can't see them having enough rotational mass and inertia to vibrate the entire case. Unless they're spinning extremely fast, or somehow run a metal fanblade.

More likely it's a bit of them, plus a lot of the optical drive. Optical Drives have a lot of rotational mass spinning fast, they *can* make a case vibrate or even resonate if it's flimsy enough. And with cheap and rattley fans you're in for some turbulence.

When you change radiators, change brands as well. Deepcool's AIOs are some of the worse on the market. I'd recommend Asus/Noctua and the Ryujin if you can afford it, it's a good looking unit, built well and has the best fans in the business. Failing that, Corsair and NZXT are trustworthy and cheap. And again, they have good fans.

I actually don't have a deepcool AIO, I just had a deepcool PC case and it had fans that I took out of when I switched cases 2 months ago. But I do plan on getting the Corsair H150i 360MM next month since my current AIO isn't able to keep my temps low. Considering I can't get 4.6 GHz and not reach 90C at full load.... But yeah, I plan on replacing all the fans to the ones that came with my PC case. The Thermal Take Riing fans. Since my build is blue, and the fans are blue so it'll match it just fine.

wait I just took the dust filter off my PC case and the PC stopped making that annoying rattling and vibrating sound. But it helps to have that there to catch the dust, any ideas why that is causing that? It's a magnetic dust filter btw.

Consider purchasing some adhesive rubber, silicon pads, or washers for the screws.

You would want rubber feet on the PC case, rubber or silicon pads on any HDDs (or consider SSD instead), and rubber washers or rubber screws on the fans.

When using metal screws, don't tighten them too much.

If considering replacing the fans, I would personally recommend Noctua fans as the best and most quiet. Try get 140mm or larger. Some rounded 140mm will fit a 120mm slot.

Quick guess, there are gaps at the magnetic mounting points and the filter piece isn't fitting as well as it should be. You've nailed down the origin so it's just a step away to solve it for good.

Sorry, I actually missed reading your post before writing my previous one.

You can remove the dust filter(s) and apply dust tape around the edges to pad them up a bit. It should prevent the rattle and won't look bad (if done nicely).
