Not worth it. I know a guy who had to RMA his 7 times before he got one with decently low backlight bleed and panel not being loose at some corner or side.

THese are very common known issues with the monitor.

Well there is literally no other competetive monitor out there. We have the x27 but its the same panel so. :/ also the new models will cost about 300-400 euro less compared to this discounted price but with low hdr and 400 nits.

Well, first, do you have the crazy hardware needed to even make use of it?
Second, if you do, are you happy to spend that much on a screen that isn't technically a proper 144Hz without loosing clarity?
I was considering one as well, but, this first generation of 4k 144 panels simply isn't worth the cost given their issues and draw backs, that, honestly, shouldn't exhist on a panel this expensive.

Edit.

Also, while actually gaming, I really don't think you'll see 1500 bucks worth of improvement over one of the high end 1440p 165Hz ips panels.

27in is too small for 4k
for gaming, go with a 1440p or 1080p 144hz

No, not worth it. 27" size is small for 4k resolution, running 4k 144hz limits chroma subsampling to 4:2:2 which results blurry text and color loss information, fan noise is very loud due to cheap built-in blower style fan, and bezel is thick, compared to ACER X27 that uses thin bezel. Therefore, I suggest you wait until next year. Hopefully, 32" 4k 144hz model will be announced at CES 2019.

1440p vs 2160p has a huge difference in clarity. And im 100% sure that the HDR on those 4k monitors are game changing. its a 144hz native 4k with ycbcr 4:2:2 but 120hz with hdr 4:2:2. so. 4:2:2 is only to be shown as weak in texts etc.

Not sure why u want to wait a year. U will still have fans in the monitor by then at 4k 144hz if it has G-sync, most likely. And it will still be 4:2:2 due to the limit of DP

When looking at a still image, or on a big screen, sure, when gaming, on a small screen, it's much closer, from 2ft away, you cannot see the pixels as it is on 1440p, ltt recently did a video on this very subject.

You never answered if you even have the kind of hardware to begin to make use of such a screen, such being at least one 2080ti, ideally 2 and something like an 9900k or 7900x (for sli to avoid bottlenecking at the pcie lanes).

If you do have such a system and can afford it, yes, it's pretty much the ultimate screen right now, but there are a fair few if us who have considered and we're waiting for these screens, who, as far as I am aware, none of us pulled the trigger, as they are not worth the cost, not when 1440p 165Hz, hdr, ops screens are so damn close while gaming for a fraction of the cost and will run at ALOT higher refresh, or sticking with regular 4k until the next gen panels release without the drawbacks for £2500 (there shouldn't be any draw backs except price at this price point).

But hey, you asked a question, everyone has said not to do it, but it's your money at the end of the day.

pg27uq is a great monitor.

the best i ever had. 27inch is not to small for 4k. 32inch is just way to big for a monitor. also the pixels are beter since they are near together -> sharper screen.

the noise from the fan isnt realy loud. they only can get loud when dust and dirt comes in the fan over a year.. so u need to clean it. or send it back to get a new^^
