Are Ryzen stock coolers enough to keep cpus cooled?
Thinking about getting a Ryzen 5 1600 with the Wraith Spire cooler that comes with it. Upgrading the mobo too so idk if the cooler I have now is gonna be compatible with the mobo I get later. Is the stock cooler gonna be enough to keep it cooled or will the cpu suffer from overheating? I'm also probably not gonna be overclocking the cpu either.

If it fits the CPU, it will fit the cooler as well.
If you don't plan to overclock, the stock cooler is fine. AMD made a pretty good one for the RyZEN CPUs.
Yep, I never saw temp over 65 with the stock 1600 cfg.

pure logic - if the stock cooler wouldnt be sufficient to cool the CPU, why include them for free in the first place?
besides all coolers need to compatibe with a certain socket (which is no sisue the last couple years) not with a certain motherboard. Then again, why incl. a free cooler when it wont fit?
your case airflow is going to play a large part of keeping it cool under load, so pick one that has good flow.

I've had an issue back then where a stock cooler for the AMD FX-8300 I have didn't keep it cool, and so it overheated it and caused frame drops in my games. So I had to get another cooler. I never overclocked the FX-8300 either.

And I didn't say that the cooler that comes with the 1600 might not be compatible with the motherboard. I said the "cooler I have now. "

This is my motherboard and cooler currently:

The motherboard is an old AM3+ model and the cooler is older too. Idk if the cooler will be compatible with newer AM4 motherboards, so that's why I asked that.

AMD's stock Ryzen based coolers that come with their respective cpu models are fine where thermals are concerned. I would ditch their pre-applied paste though and use a better 3rd party one. Overall should be fine unless you're trying to OC while using the stock cooler.
They're absolutely fine, even for gaming. You only need to upgrade if you plan on overclocking.

As a rule Ryzen are fairly cold CPUs, it doesn't take much to keep them happy.
The Ryzen Stock coolers are great. Definitely plenty for keeping them cool.
