rgb cable wont connect to cpu cooler
so i bought the ryzen 7 1700 which comes with the wraith spire rgb cooler which, has a power, and an rgb cable. But now it seems that the rgb cable just doesnt connect to the cooler. Both the female and male parts are 5 pin but the female connector has some metal plate connecting the last two pins which i cant remove so how tf do i do this and no, i wont leave it without the rgb

Having RGB requires 4 things. Power, and a seperate signal for Red, Green, and Blue. I assume power comes from the CPU Power cable, so you only need those three pins to determine color. This is all a guess on my part based on RGB LED Strips, and how they are hooked up.

Dont guess... You are far off truth. There 3 pin to 6 pin rgb cables. The gain the power from those pins. Some have to be to connected to USB 2 internal and not normal rgb pins at all.

Despite of that, there is no rgb standard. Every major company uses their own rgb software which is not compatible to others.

In this case it is compatible to Asus Aura so you need an Asus motherboard for that header.

It does not change anything on the cooler performance itself but the rgb control
