upgrading hp elite 8300
and power supply's and cpu's that will work with a hp elite 8300 ?

[changed parts]
(gpu gtx 1050 ti 4gb low-profile)
(ram 12gb ddr3)

what cpu does it currently have?

product page just says 2nd and 3rd gen intel processors so the best you can get on that platform is an i7 3770

yea ill get one of those (currently i have a 300 watt power supply) should i upgrade ?

also where would i find a i7 3770 ?

shouldn't need to upgrade power supply as long as you don't intend to upgrade your GPU

ebay or second hand computer parts store is your only hope.

find out the model of your motherboard and google to see if it supports the i7 3770 because some OEM boards don't support higher tdp cpu's

apparently the board does support the i7 3770 but it was advised in that post ^ to get the i7 3770s which is a lower tdp cpu.

also it was mentioned a bios update might be needed so before removing your old cpu update the bios via hp's website
