How's Logitech z506 5+1?
I've been using an altec Lansing vs4121 since 14 years ago or so,I really like it as the bass is really punchy, but tbf it's only 2+1 and doesn't really give a good experience with story mode games or movies,I'm planning to get the Logitech z506 as a replacement for it, how's the system compared to the my ancient 2+1?

Also,I will need to get a sound card, so I'll likely get something by creative since my motherboard only has 3 sound outs

any mobo can do analog 5.1, just assign all its rear ports to the outputs using realtek audio control panel

some can do spdif digital 5.1, assigning the output to a left channel

imho, if you want better sound, use a htib 5.1, most now can use hdmi as audio from the gpu

check if it can use hdmi input or analog 5.1 (3 sets of rca), or spdif (orange)

https://www.reddit.com/r/logitech/comments/ofqd13/logitech_z506_i_want_to_know_if_there_is_an/ this is how the back looks,i think thats analog 5.1
x530 are better than z506 from a sound perspective...

but i spose you would not notice that if you never had the x530

the z506 sound ok but i ended up throwing mine away just
recently as a capacitor was causing hum/buzz and i wrecked
the circuit board trying to fix it.. 10 years old for that to happen
so i cant complain to much but something to think about
considering my x530 are still going strong from 2004..

also i have never needed to used these speakers to their
full capacity as i have the speaker volume on half on both
sets and i was using them on my TV as well.. great for movies..

If you go Z506, I'd suggest Z906 as I'm using.
It has THX certified. I'm not sure price difference and cost performance though.
