But overall if you have issues after game is launched from Steam, just modify the controller bindings in steam big picture mode.
Add borderlands 3 as a non-steam game to steam. You may need to disable epic's onscreen-display, if there is any. I'm running some uplay games through steam, haven't tried to run any games from the epic launcher yet.
Thanks for your answer! Do you use a steam controler with it? I tryed to run it straight from Steam and it runs but same problem, looks like BL3 is not using the steam overlay for the controler at all. When I run BL3 directly without steam the controler input show exactly the same fault.
I've tested The Messenger and Nuclear Throne from the epic store through steam and it worked with the steam overlay. So, I assumed it'd also work with BL3 that way. Sorry!
It might be a BL3 specific issue.
Have you tried? :
1)
Try to add the epic launcher to steam as a game and start the epic games launcher from there (close epic games launcher before starting it through steam if you enabled auto-start). Start the game from the epic launcher.
2)
You could also edit the desktop configuration from the controller. That's most likely the mode your controller is in when you play BL3. It's under Steam -> Settings -> Controller.
