Is the deathadder elite worth getting?
Hey so , i just broke my mouse that i've been using for 4 years. I'm in the market for a new one and overall i've heard a lot of positive feedback about razer's deathadder elite , however from what i've seen it also gets a lot of negative feedback with the main complaint being that it breaks easily , is that true and is it worth getting? Thanks.

It's not a bad mouse the problem is Razer's QA is lacking so the chances of getting a lemon is pretty high. I always recommend the Logitech G403[www.rocketjumpninja.com] over the DA

Not to mention, at the current price of $42[www.amazon.com] it's a much better value for your dollar.

Hey thanks for responding , but i'd like to ask what do you mean by ''getting a lemon''? I'm pretty novice with this sort of thing.

Well sometimes you get one DOA, some get mouse button issues in a very short time (weeks to months), and so on...

On that note I did pick up one for my son a few years back and his is still going strong, they do have that "magic shape" that is very comfortable for a palm-grip.

I've found my Corsair Scimitar Pro to be very robust and comfortable, has all normal mouse buttons plus DPI adjustment and then 12 programable buttons on the thumb side. You can move the buttons as well to the best position for your thumb but you will always have some difficulty reaching some of them. The latest Dark core mouse from Corsair also looks pretty good, not held one yet though so not sure on comfort or quality.

However the caviat is they are much more expensive and I cannot argue the logic of getting the Logitch G403 but I thought I'd throw it out there for you to consider.

I'd look at Corsair, Logitech, or Zowie.
Razer is nothing but junk.

Could you recommend me a model in particular?

I really like the deathadder, its a solid mouse. I have had no issues with it at all. Its really easy to change the dpi and the side buttons are a nice plus.

All 3 of those brands are very good.
IDK what exact models to recommend you without more info.

What's your max budget for good mouse?
What if any specialized features are you looking for?

My budget is about 80 euros which is 92 dollars , i'm not looking for anything too flashy i just want a comfortable and responsive mouse for (mostly) first person shooters.

Had a Razer Naga 2014 - worked well for the first 3-4 months or so.

* Then tracking issues. Removing the Synapse softare fixed the tracking problems. A few months go by, more tracking issues....
* This time after troubleshooting, I found that after re-installing the Synapse software the tracking issue was fixed. A few months pass....software issue related with the Synapse software.
* Found the Synapse software was forcing my GPU to run 3D clock speeds, which means drawing more power and running hotter when I was just sitting idle at the desktop. Once I killed the synapse software, the GPU dropped to 2D clocks and temps dropped below 30C and the GPU fans stopped running (they don't run until the GPU hits 30C or higher). Turned on the Synapse software and GPU ramped up again. So, I uninstall the Synapse software again. A few months pass and middle mouse button issues
* I'm now around 14-15 months into owning this mouse. I do some troubleshooting and contact Razer support. They have me install the Synapse software and middle mouse button issue goes away. A few months pass and tracking issue returns and middle mouse button issue returns
* I completely remove the Synapse software again - issues remain. I manually cleaned out all Synapse registry entries and the tracking and mouse button issue goes away. I've now had the mouse for maybe 20-21 months. 3-4 months later (just after the 2 year warrenty ends) the middle mouse button issue returns.....
* I tested the mouse on another computer, in multiple USB ports, installed Synapse software and did a clean removal of the software, but nothing worked. The middle mouse button barely responded and Razer wouldn't do anything because the warranty time passed about 10 days prior. A day later the middle mouse button had completely failed.

I just threw the overpriced POS away. Waste of $75.

I went back to the $18 5-button Microsoft mouse that I had been using before and the mouse had 5+ years of daily use on it and everything worked just like it did the day I bought the mouse. I still use the mouse to this day at work - 8+ years of use and it still functions without issues.

TL;DR - Razer hardware sucks, don't get it.

I eventually picked up a Logitech G502, I've had it for almost 2.5 years now and still works like the day I got it. If you need a "gaming" mouse, I'd vote for Logitech.

Some people claim that razer mice don't malfunction that easily anymore or that a small amount of units have those problems , anyhow thanks for the effort put into your comment.

Razer is nothing but junk.

It's worth getting if you are onto competitive gaming.
