What can I use my second GPU for?
So currently right now I have as my main GPU, a GTX 1070 FE, and my second GPU is a 1050 EVGA GPU.. I've fully uninstalled drivers and reinstalled them an hour ago and they both regonize in Windows. But I know I need SLI to make those 2 work together in games, but we all know the GTX 1050 and GTX 1060 doesn't support SLI. So what exactly can I benefit from using my 1050? Like what stuff can I do?

You couldn't even use SLI with two different model cards, but iirc, you could use that card for something like bitcoin mining while you play your games.

Well firstly, GPUs in the GTX 10xx family don't even support SLI below the 1070

Then to do SLI, you require an SLI supporting Motherboard, and then a 2nd 1070 GPU + SLI HB Bridge

That 1050 is worthless in the system and will do nothing for you.

I'm fully aware that you need the same exact GPU's for SLI to work, thus meaning that you can't use a GTX 1070 and 1080. But you can use an aftermarket 1070 and a reference 1070 together. Those would work.

Did you even read OP? He knows he can't use them for sli since they are below 1070.

Yea no crap.

Like I said, that 1050 GPU serves zero purpose.

Not really, I have a friend who uses his second gpu (a 1050ti) for rendering animations, cryptocurrency mining etc. It's not useless in the system, but OP would be better off selling it.

I've been thinking about doing mining, but since mining has dropped so heavily I feel as if it would be a waste of time. But I might reconsider it. Haven't really thought of mining till you brought it up though.

You could use it for mining but selling it would bring way more profit to you.

I could sell it, but I like collecting graphics cards. I might even it put in my other desktop build when I get an SSD.

I guess, but if you *really* like collecting graphics cards or you want to put it into a second build you could keep it. (BTW I have a 1050ti and a 660 without a use too)

I'm using a GT 1030 currently as secondary gpu to have my 2 other monitors hooked up to instead of all of them being on the GTX 1080.

This is because with 3 monitors, the clockspeed of the gpu gets elevated and prevented to go down to normal idle speeds. This makes the gpu run at ~60C and thus heating up the air.
And of course needlessly using power.

So to prevent this, I have only the gaming monitor on the 1080 and rest are on the 1030.

Of course, this is issue only with 3 monitors.

So there's an issue in GTA 5, when I have my GTX 1070 as my main GPU, but I also have my GTX 1050 there as well. The textures seem to not load in all the way and some textures go away. But when I disable the GTX 1050 in the device manager that issue goes away. Do you know why it does that and is there a way to fix it without having to disable my second GPU?

Could be GTA 5 is trying to use the 1050's VRAM and running out of it as a result, and not being able to use more from 1070. Kind of like in SLI.

Is GTAV on an SSD?
Is NVIDIA Shader Cache enabled?

No, it's installed on a 7200 rpm 1tb hard drive. My SSD is being used as my boot drive and I don't have enough space for GTA 5. Shader cache is also enabled.
