Is my PC stronger than the standard PS4?

Basically I need to know which system I'm going to buy Cyberpunk for.

Since I got this PC I havent touched my ps4, and I would like to keep it that way. The lack of mod support and the fact I cant play any of my games online unless I give sony $10 is just turning me off onto the console all together.

But for important games like Cyberpunk or Doom Eternal I need to get it for whichever system gives me the best performance.

So is my PC better? Worse? About the same?

Besides most video games cant utilize current cutting edge hardware because the games cant look to much better than their console counterpart or sony/microsoft gets mad: Watchdogs for example.

For under $500, the PS4 of course. Cause you get get a PS4 for like $300

For PC you kinda need to go up to around 650-750 $USD area to have anything good. But it's worth it.

Console games are pretty much always 60$ when new, and you have to pay for the online service to even play them, unless we're talking about just play a single player game.

That doesn't matter, u can't just view PC Hardware and directly compare to a Console.
$500 worth of PC hardware does not equate to PS4 or better kind of performance; none of how any of this works, works that way, period.

You would need at least i5-8400 / Ryzen 5 2600, GTX 1060 6GB / RX 580 8GB, 16 GB DDR4 RAM.

Witcher 3 yes with medium settings 1080p.
For Wolfenstein II the graphics card is below minimum requirements.

Look, RX 560 is crap, it wont do 1080p gaming well.
Yes it will work in many games, but good, NO.
It's more of a medium/high @ 720p kind of GPU.

Anything below RX 580 / GTX 1060 is pretty much just not even worth using or buying at this point.

Ehh that is basically Xbox one X territority, at least when it comes to multiplat games, except the CPU which would be much faster on the PC with that. The 1060 6GB is almost equivalent to the X's GPU, and if you say "console optimization" just take a look at this channel that do these comparisons: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqyKIlKKfFGy6AraaqAGlHA It's a fairly even outcome probably.

The base PS4's GPU is more in line with R9 270 or so apparently.

See in my research most of the websites that already figured this out have said that weaker gpu/cpus than mine are about equal.

Plus most of the guys here are talking about 1080/60f which isnt possible for most games on the the regular ps4


Nor is it paticularly important to me since my tv is only 720p regardless

Problem is the game will be optimised on a console so may look better despite your PC on paper having equal/superior specs. As others have noted if you want the best experience without upgrading your PC the PS4 version would probably be the best bet.

Optimization ingame and tweaking would run it. Even I play wolfenstein 2 on under requirements.
