Vulkan on Intel HD graphics

Hello,

Thank you all in advance for any help you are able to give me.

I am trying to play Artifact on the following system:

Lenovo Z580 laptop
Intel i7-2720QM
Intel Hd 3000 (I think, the laptop is from 2012 and system info doesn't tell me for sure) Graphics
16gb ram (I assume Lenovo sourced the ram, I have no idea who actually manufactured it)

I am running Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon
Cinnamon Version: 3.8.9
Linux Kernel Version: 4.15.0-42-generic

I have tried following the steps given here [linuxconfig.org] and here [askubuntu.com]

I still get the error message: "Vulkan Instance Version: 1.1.70

/build/vulkan-Kbdbga/vulkan-1.1.70+dfsg1/demos/vulkaninfo.c:2700: failed with VK_ERROR_INITIALIZATION_FAILED"

When I run the "vulkaninfo" command in terminal.

I still get the error message: "Failed to initialize Vulkan. Please make sure you driver and GPU support Vulkan" when I try to run Artifact from the Steam library.


Like I said, thanks for taking a look and any help would be appreciated!

Intel HD Graphics 3000 from that CPU doesn't actually support Vulkan.

You simply won't be able to run it through Vulkan. If you use DirectX, however, it could work.

Make sure you have the vulkan-intel MESA driver installed.
