Windows Installation Blackscreen & Stuck.
I'm having problem installing windows in my elder pc (usually use it for hosting small server), it keep getting black screen & sometimes it stuck at "getting devices ready" part.
I've tried cmos, changed mobo battery, replug vga/ram/cpu & every cables but still no fix.
Also i've tried replace my keyboard/mouse or even without them while booting installation.

cpu: i5 4440 3.2ghz
mobo: z87h3-a3x
ram: 4x corsair 8gb (32gb)
graph: 2x asus hd7770 ddr5
psu: 2x cooler master 700w & 500w

pc build in 2012, it was running fine before & i've never had any issue.

things what i did before i got this problem:
  • I usually like to wipe the harddrives with wiper before i reinstall os, the program called dban.
  • In my past os, i use program called cpu core unpark, ccleaner, also i had overclocked my cpu & gpu.
  • I've ever wipe my harddrives with ccleaner.

update:
  • I've tried installing with any different os: windows 7,ubuntu linux, arch linux. the result still same even when i use live ubuntu os.
  • I'm using penddrive for installation.
  • I've tried changing penddrive os with other usb devices, also with fresh iso. the result still same.

It could be the RAM or the drive you're installing to. I wouldn't rule out the motherboard either.
If you have not in a while, or at all, take the time to run a Memory Diagnostics Test on each 8GB of RAM, one a time. And since you want to test them one at a time, also take the time to then also test each of the DIMM slots. Now some motherboards can be picky about which slot is used when only 1x installed RAM module, so you'll have to figure out how to factor that into play.

When doing an OS install, only hookup the Source and Target Drives; no Secondary SSDs/HDDs when doing this process. This helps ensure the OS installer does not go and put it's hands on with anything regarding that OS, onto those other drives.

If a drive then seems to be the trouble, do an in-depth surface test of said drive to ensure no bad sectors. If any bad sectors are found on a drive, the drive is basically already on it's way out and could up and get worse, or die completely at any time after such bad sectors starts to be a problem. Yes they can be checked and then marked off from the master volume tables; however this only buys you some time.

Time to buck up and get a retail or digital version of Windows 10. It's not a bad OS and it runs games as well as Windows 7 ever did.

Also, please note that live CD's take a while to boot. I'm very much inclined to agree with rotNdude and Bad_Motha about it as well.

Best way to test RAM modules is to test each module individually in each individual slot.

use single gpu. when you have fully installed windows, add the 2nd gpu.
sorry for late reply, i've been busy trying to fix it.

i've tested my ram in my other pc its working fine & i've checked the modules, i did not find any bad block or some burn mark on them. also i've checked them with memmory tester called "ramcheck lx" theres no data error when its working.

still did not work, but the screen showup when i use igpu. so i assume it was graphic adapter problem on latest windows 10.

    late update:
i did not get blackscreen when i boot to win7 & linux os, i was forgot to clear cmos (i was using uefi boot & i still using overclock settings)

    late update:
    • i broke my mobo cmos battery house while i working on it days ago (since i ever flashed my bios 2times before so i tho it was bios error). then i replace it with new mobo, but still im having blackscreen.
    • the screen showup when i switching to onboard graphic/igpu.(so i guess it was my gpu problem because of overclocking or new windows 10 build did not came with my right gpu adaptor from its installation)
    • its now fixed, by booting into safemode (using screen connection from my gpu) troubleshoting the graphic adaptor & then disabling the unused igpu adaptor.
from here, i think i was right if the new windows build did not came with my right gpu adaptor.

Install the drivers specific to your GPU from whomever made the chipset. If it's AND, go there. If it's NVIDIA, check there.
