You did do an actual reinstall right? Not a reset..

Make sure you have all your drivers installed.

Meaning the malware may very well still be on your system.

Reinstall Windows. Don't reset.

Unless you are registry edit guru just wipe it all and start fresh.

Meaning you didn't reinstall Windows.. You wouldn't have malware on your system if you reinstalled.. Reinstalling means wiping the entire drive and installing Windows again, manually. Never ever use that reset feature, it doesn't fix anything and sometimes only causes more issues.

Download the Media Creation Tool from the Microsoft website. It can found here[www.microsoft.com]. Then use the Media Creation Tool to download and mount the Windows 10 installation files on a flash drive. Once the tool is done go in to the BIOS and boot from the flash drive. Follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall Windows, At the "Where do you want to install Windows?" screen delete all partitions before continueing.
- Do backup your personal files before doing this, otherwise you will lose them.

This...and yes you'll need to format the hard drive too.

Doesn't matter, if you want to you eliminate it, and ensure to remove the issue, a complate system wipe is needed.

You might.

And like I said; the reset function is a mess, don't use it. It often only breaks more stuff. Reinstall Windows.

We don't know what you gotten in the 1st place, and chances are it may still remain on your system. Depending what you used to scan can vary as it depends how it mask itself against the antivirus scanners.

So if you believe you got a problematic virus / malware / trojan, then it would be recommended to kill it completely by doing a wipe.

If this your antivirus didn't pick it up the 1st time, chances are it may miss it again. It's recommend to use well know scanner's that are on the ball trying to fight against new viruses, malware, trojans that are made daily.

basucally, i got a virus while trying to install microsoft toolkit, but it was a malware, and i didnt notice that the antivirus was off, and i though it was okay, but it wasnt... so i deleted it and did a wipe and i removed the (44) malwares that were still there... but the performance as you may know its not good after that reset...
(im trusting my antiviruses because they've always been right about the presence of a virus ...but now the pc is slower)

What's this toolkit, and what was the reason you need it for?

If it's not from the official Microsoft website, then chances are your download from a untrusted source that gives people viruses.

Doing a reset is the the same as wipe, by doing a reset, depending on the virus, may not get remove by a reset, and by keeping your files with the reset, chances the virus was also been kept, and mask itself as a file to be kept.

It's recommended to do a complete full system wipe, as in reinstall Windows.

if you have some files you cannot replace, store them on a usb stick, then go nuclear, format the drive and start fresh, when you are happy your system is clean, and before you go re-installing everything, plug in the usb, run your virus checker and malwarebites on it, if the system still seems to be responsive and the virus wasnt saved, you are ok, if theres any issue, well, im afraid youve lost the files, get a professional to try and fix them or start from fresh.
