DT 770 80ohm/32ohm vs Custom One Pro Plus
Need some help with deciding. I mainly use my headphones with my pc and sometimes i want to use them with my phone, would the 80 ohm be an issue. Also my motherboard (B85M-P33) is preety old, from 2012 i think. Would that have an issue with the 80 ohm headphones?

I have cant decide between the DT770 and the COPP because theyre both similar, the copp has more features (detachable, shorter cable, customisable design) but the dt770's have better sound quality and possibly comfort.
My pc is less than a meter away from me so a 3 meter cable would be overkill. Yes i could like tie it together with something but idk.

The biggest factor is that the copp's are cheaper and available in my country but the dt770's are not. If i dont like the dt770's then the shipping costs probably wont be cheap.

I will use my headphones for gaming and listening to music.

I have the DT 880 600 ohm and boi. It's some good ♥♥♥♥.
I have both the DT 770s 250 ohm and DT 900s, so I quite like the beyer sound signature. 80 ohms shouldn't be an issue on a phone or older MB. I use the 250 ohms versions on my Samsung Galaxy S7 and they are okay with the volume nearly maxed. 80 ohms will be easy to drive. I also don't find the cable on the DT 700 to be much of an issue because it's coiled and is little more than an arm's length in its coiled state, no where near an actual 3m. It does add some heft to that side of the headphone though. I think comfort will be equal between the two as they appear to use the same pads on the earcups and headband. The 80 ohm version of the DT 770 does have worse sound than the 250 ohm, so I'm guessing sound quality between the two will be pretty equivalent. Considering the Custom Ones are cheaper and have a couple other features, I would go with that one. If you don't like them for whatever reason, you can always return them and try something else.

Well yea i can return but im scared that maybe ill screw something up and i cant return. But then i can maybe just sell it on some site i guess.

Guess ill go with the copp's, theyre available and theyre not so much different from the dt770's other than the lower impendance (16 ohm vs 80 ohm)

Does impendance actually affect sound quality that much?

I think you'll be fine with any pair of beyerdynamics tbh, they make really good stuff. You can't mess anything up on a headphone unless you purposely damage it, and any legitimate store should allow you a return if you're not happy. Impedance isn't a direct measure of sound quality, but in the beyer DT 770 and 990, there is a noticeable improvement in sound quality with higher impedances. In the DT 990s, the 600 ohms are less bright than the 80/250 ohms. With the DT 770s, the 250 ohms seems more accurate than the 80 ohms.

Well im not an audiophile so i probably wont notice anything. My current headphones cost 30€ so anything from beyerdynamic would be an upgrade.

Guess ill go with the copp's.

Yes, it's only a small difference with different ohms. I think you'll be quite happy with the Custome Ones. Have fun!
Phones don't generally have the power to properly power beyond about 50ohms, saying that, experts agree, in blind tests there's really no conclusive proof that higher is better or noticeable (hence them being the same price), it's as much marketing as anything, so I would go with the 32ohm version if it was my money, easier to drive properly and no difference in sound beyond a placebo effect.

With that said, having a good DAC / amp to run either will enhance the sound over basic onboard.

Well the dt770 isnt available in my country, at least not that i know of. I did lots of research.
So going with the copp will be easier, the difference isnt that big anyways.
