Has anyone tried using an Operating System called Haiku?
Haiku is not related to any of the Haiku games, it is in fact an Operating System. I am running Haiku R1 Beta number 3 64 Bit, in Oracle Virtual Box. From what I understand so far it is neither Linux nor Windows, even though it looks more like Linux. It is only about 750 mega bytes in size, after updates. Even though you are warned that the OS is still in beta the OS seems to be much more stable than Windows 98 ever was and we all payed a lot of money for that crashing mess of an OS. Ops aged myself there. Haiku is not one of the OS's mentioned by Oracle to run in their Virtual Box yet it runs very stable in the VB. Just thought I would throw it out there just in case there are others that like playing with different Operating Systems.

I have used it, yeah.
I have also used the original BeOS back in the day. Which is why I tried Haiku because I really liked the original.

I am quite surprised at how nice an OS Haiku is. There are even some simple games written for it. It's fun to play with but I would never use it in a serious gaming system. However I might consider it in a low buget computer.

i tried beos a long time ago, late 90s with an orig pentium cpu
i dont remember much from it tho
Yep, I tried both BeOS and Haiku. BeOS and Haiku are very similar, but Haiku is in better quality and it also is more optimized. Also, I haven't found much software for them, but they look very nice. I wouldn't recommend them to everyone, but they are worth a try.

I just checked my VB here in Linux Mint and yes I have Haiku. This post is almost a year old so I sort of forgotten about Haiku. Thanks for reminding me as I am going to go back and check it out after I post this answer.
