Oh ok, I'll check that out thanks.
EDIT: Damn it MBR grrrr
MBR vs GPT has nothing to do with NTFS.
MBR/GPT is the Partitioning method.
NTFS/FAT32/EXFAT are Formatting methods.
So is there a way through Windows 10 Disk Manager (Partition Manager) to change it from MBR to GPT?
That I think u can do, but I would opt for something else. Windows stock software is
You have anything you personally like using? I'd appreciate any suggestions
Right click the drive and it might offer to convert to something else. Offered to convert to dynamic disk for me but I forgot what that does. Probably gives you the gpt option.
Well, I use the Paragon hard disk manager but that isn't free. When I wasn't using that I really liked the easus partition manager or partition wizard.
Note that this won't have a bearing on whether a disk is MBR or GPT. MBR is legacy format, this is why I'm asking about the CSM setting.
Edit: if no progress, go back into BIOS and restore that CSM setting immed. Also--to convert MBR to GPT style means you will lose all data on that hard drive. You do this via Administrative command prompt in the Recovery environment. Trust me, I've done this before, multiple times actually. It's not difficult but you will lose everything on the drive.
Yeah play with that setting too. I remember it and it made the difference. Still not hurting anything with partition conversion but I think you need to mesa with that setting too.
I can't remember, I'll restart PC and check brb. I do remember seeing CSM option in there.
The thing is, when I type in msinfo32 in the search bar in Win 10, in the info page I see "Bios mode: Legacy" which I think is supposed to say "UEFI".
I think it defaults back to legacy if another condition isn't er but forgot which. I don't remember, but I do remember it being complicated.
In order to enable Secure Boot, it must be set in the Secure Boot section as "Windows UEFI mode." Not "Other OS"
For a reference point, on here, Secure Boot is ENABLED. Windows UEFI mode and CSM enabled.
Hmm, this is what the page says:

Did you convert the disk to gpt yet?
No not yet man, I have to be up at 5am for work and it's already almost 10pm here. I'll have to try some stuff tomorrow after work.
I appreciate all the suggestions and help from you guys, thank you.
I'll report back tomorrow if I can get something going.
