I would like someone to do a test with a non-Seasonic power supply.

Specifically, it is an excessive variability test that repeats "0 ⇔ 99%".
Power supply shutdown that happens while using RTX3080.
This is not just a Seasonic problem.
We are trying to solve this.

This does not happen with Seasonic power supplies for models after 2021.
Can this be substantiated with other companies' models?
I would like to know this.

I own a GX750 from 2020 and a 3090.
Can't confirm.

My sister has a GX750 from around the same time and a 3070TI.
Can't confirm.

I'm gonna update my post after asking some of my friends with a Seasonic PSU from before 2021.
But so far, can't confirm.

Who is "we" btw ? You and Mr. Seasonic ?

Yes.

Did you run the test continuously for a certain amount of time using the space key in FurMark?
By using the space key, you can keep giving a variable load, such as 20 to 99%, 99 to 20%, etc.
This symptom is very likely to occur when excessive and variable GPU loading occurs.

I would never use Furmark anymore. It's sorely outdated. Try MSI Kombuster and Unigine Superposition

Sorry for the late answer but I needed to test it again in good conscious.
Furmark doesnt crash on different workloads. I was hitting the space bar like a maniac.

Same on my sisters system. I can provide some clips or screenshots if you want me to.

Got also a reply from a friend with a Seasonic PSU from 2019 and a 6900 XT. No issues at all.

I have tied a few RTX 30 series with the PSUs we have on-hand. No problems.

GPUs tried:
RTX 3060 12GB
RTX 3070 Ti
RTX 3080
RTX 3080 Ti

PSUs tried:
Corsair HX 750
Corsair HXi 850
Corsair RMx 850
Corsair AX 1000i

I experienced so many shutdowns with this Dying Light 2.
I have not experienced this with the current 2021 model.
There is a scene in the video that I want to draw your attention to.
Around the 20-50 second mark.
You can see that there is a very large variable load being applied.
Please try it if you can.
And let us know the result.

Nah man, I'm done.
There is no official statement whatsoever and me @ Bad_Motha tried a bunch of different GPUs and PSUs and there wasn't a single crash.

Stop that BS. And again, who is WE ?

shutdowns isnt always a psu problem
can be temp or unstable oc or many other things

did you check windows error logs?
make sure you have updated bios and correct drivers from mobo mfg site?
and how are temps?

go to EVGA forums there is a post dedicated to power supplies that do and dont work with the 3000 series cards due to the voltage spikes my 850 watt gold thermaltake tough couldnt
handle the spikes so had to upgrade to a Bequiet 1200 watt platnium.

Instead of asking people to test and what not, which won't solve *your* issue, just buy a new PSU.

Prime95 SmallFFT and FurMark.
Experiment with high load tests using both of these at the same time.
In my environment, by using Prime95 SmallFFT, the CPU is always at 100% of full power load and power consumption is 200W.

Currently my June 2021 model.
One month and a half high load test I repeated almost 100 times.
I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

^ Yes very good way to test. That's how I've gone about doing cpu + gpu high/full load tests since Intel Skylake and AMD Bulldozer first released. Very good way to test a PSU in terms of its reliability per what power consumption you'd expect at its highest peaks. Also good to test not just PSU but of course overall cpu + gpu stability. Especially if you OC anything or if you need to look deeper into what to expect with any voltages that are auto managed rather then manually set by you. As sometimes on some board + cpu combos the vcore or other voltages might peak too high when left on auto in the bios.

I've seen my fair share of Motherboards over the years where some of the chipset related voltages (mainly ones for AM3 socket) would not peak properly on auto and needed to be manually tweaked in order to have overall system stability when something was forcing the cpu turbo clock to be ramped up for lengthy periods.
