Otherwise, enjoy your short-timed pleasure in flickering hell (low range 50-90hz). It also depends on the game though, but most games which arent well optimized and deliver "dirty frames" like Cyberpunk or the FlightSim2020 (or most RPGs), will flicker within the sync range. This can happen at 50FPS, and even at 90FPS. I mean, you could manually adjust the Sync-Range and decrease it(with CRU for example) which would get rid of most of the flickering, but I dont think consumers who pay around 500-600 bucks for a monitor, are supposed to do that.
Those Samsung VA panels are not worth it. No matter if you take the S3422DWG, G34WQC, the by far most awful monitor on this planet G5 by Samsung, the Xiaomi Mi Curved, MateView, LC-Power,Asus TUF and whatnot, they do have the same damn Samsung VA-panel.
I think iiyama was the only manufacturer who patched their firmware.
Used more than 16 widescreen monitors over the last couple of years cause of my work, and not a single VA-panel worked without flickering with FreeSync enabled.
So if you do use FreeSync, do yourself a huge favor, and go for IPS.
Dont make the same mistake like thousands other people who didnt knew better and regret it later on. Just take a look into the Dell forum, or Reddit and search for VA-flickering.
Even their own forum is full of it.

For starters, the LG UltraGear 34GN850-B would be an excellent choice, either for gaming or commercial work.
Thanks for your tip, man! Actually, I would use it for gaming AND working at home. And this LG is compatible with G-SYNC, and I have a Nvidia 3080. Also, it is cheaper than the DELL...
You are welcome. Your 3080 would also work with FreeSync, but GSync supported monitors are flicker-free. ;)
It depends on the area where you live though. So if you happen to live in a country where the UltraGear is cheaper than the Dell, even better. :)
But even if not, the UltraGear is still worth its money, IF you put value on flicker-free FreeSync.
Otherwise like already mentioned, go for the S3422DWG. One of the best VA-panels in terms of color accuracy and contrast.
Unfortunately, I was mistaken. The 34GN850 is not avaliable where I live (Brazil). Instead, I can buy the 34GL750, which is a model earlier, I think. Here´s a comparisson betwen the two:

It is much cheaper than the DELL S3422DWG, and it has G-SYNC... Thinking about buying the LG...
Hi!
Just found out that my actual monitor (Dell Ultrasharp U2413) has an AH panel (which is a kind of IPS, from what I´ve read). I purchased it many years ago because I was very much into photography, using photoshop a lot and was one of the most "color-friendly" avaliable.
I think that I will hold onto mine for a little and wait until the 34GN850-B is avaliable here in Brazil.
Again, thanks for your help!
is legendary, contrast is crap,350nit.most over rated monitor on the market.had 2 of them in my arsenal and both sub par.educate yourself before you purchase is all im saying.
There is a detailed review in rtings, should check it out.
Dell do great sale, once every couple of months, I got mine at about 40%off
Nice joke. ;)
Just a quick question. Open Radeon settings and navigate to Display from the submenu.
What does the Display options tell you ?
Does it say "Adaptive Sync", "VRR", or "FreeSync" ? is it enabled/disabled ?
edit : And if you dont mind, pls share your specs. What kind of an AMD gpu are we talking about ?
IPS panels do not only have advantages but LG is the way to go.At least if you ask me.
I've used plenty LG displays and each one of them was ideal.
Hello!
After some careful consideration, I´ve ended up buying the Dell S2721DGF.
I found it to be a perfect balance for gaming, work, and my photography hobby. It is G-SYNC compatible, fits my pocket and Dell provides me a 3-year warranty. It is IPS like my Dell Ultrasharp (it will remain a second monitor for dual-screen work).
Thank you for your insights and time to help. Without them I´d never consider IPS as an option.
The S2721DGF is much better than the 34GL750 in terms of resolution&brightness. Im glad they dont advertise HDR400 on this monitor....
Using HDR400/600 should be a punishable crime anyway.
Enjoy the G-Sync module. ;)
edit : Oh, I just saw that they do advertise HDR400 for this model. Just disable it in your DELL OSD settings and you should be fine since youre also doing some commercial work on this display and it would be a shame if the colors get "washed out".
