gigabyte z390 ud
Which ever it fits best in.
But yes due to the large size of the card, I would not install it too close the GPU.
The card is decent quality so as long as you using a decent quality PSU also, then having it near that shouldn't matter.
Ensure to enter the BIOS and disable the Onboard Audio.
even lower if i use external amplifier.\
i decided to buy pcie extender.
Something like a USB DAC w/ AMP is a much better option and you won't have to worry about Driver issues that plague Win10/11 users when it comes to Sound Cards from ASUS, Creative; etc. And you can use the same USB DAC on a Desktop or Laptop. And they work great under Linux as well.
much better than onboards from 10-20 years ago
the only real reason for one would be if you need optical or a 2nd-3rd audio capture card
(realtek onboards can be set to work as 2, one for voip and other for game/system sounds)
the sound on gpus is also very good, hdmi true audio or atmos, which optical or analog cannot let an external receiver decode
are you making music for a company ? do you actually need it for your job?
cause if you're just gaming and watching youtube videos they are a total waste of money.
