Report a translation problem
If it was working fine before but isn't now, something seems to have changed. A new Windows update, device addition/change (such as moved to another USB port), or driver change could have caused it.
You can use device manager to disable the mouse, keyboard, or other devices from waking the PC.

Then I remembered that you could turn off those "wake on" events in the properties of the device. I turned them all off and it won't wake up from sleep mode anymore. Thanks for your help. You gave me the perfect idea. Enjoy your award.
Sleep mode can make a good shutdown substitute, maybe not entirely but for a lot of cases, but a lot of default settings of Windows prevent it from being used as such so I guess most people give up on it and presume it just doesn't work well. Sleep usually works, it's usually waking up when you don't know why that confuses people.
Ensure to download+install the latest Motherboard Chipset Drivers as well; otherwise Sleep Mode might never function correctly.
