is it normal?
so i am using a sandisk ultra dual drive (32GB) for keeping custom rom movie stuff etc...whenever is try to copy a large file (take custom rom or a movie for example) it gets heated up when doing so...is it considered normal?

Its the chip that does the transfer that gets hot and yes they can easily get to eighty degrees C or more. When it gets very hot it will slow down to allow the temperature to drop. People sometimes fit coolers to the drivers to keep them cooler and stop them slowing down.

anything having power run through it will heat up eventually
it's normal yeah. but still check on it periodically to make sure it's not "too hot"
if it's burning to the touch it's probably to hot and should be un plugged for a little while.

It may get warming up while using it, but it shouldn't be too hot to touch. If it is really hot, then unplug the drive or unplug the PC if it is make smoking out of it. It is really important not to panic where it could make it worst.
