Figured as much, just need reassurance.
Kind of confused myself with the FSB:DRAM Ratio thing.
but the bclk also changes everything pci ram and other parts that should not be overclocked
ram freq x2 = ddr number
So everything is fine then?
It is just on the memory tab, CPU-Z shows a FSB:DRAM ratio of 3:54. And I thought it should be closer to 1:1. But after doing a little research, I have come to the conclusion to not necessarily worry too much about that. My Ram is running at 3600Mhz and that is what it should be running at.
54/3 * 100mhz = 1800mhz *2 = ddr 3600
Got ya. Makes a lot more sense now. Duh, lol.
Don't know why I was expecting something different. I was a little confused by what CPU-Z was actually showing. Makes sense.
So question... If you have ddr4-2666, how is it running at 3600? You can overclock the RAM that much?
Slot #1 Module G.Skill 16384 MB (DDR4-2666) - XMP 2.0 - P/N: F4-3600C18-16GTZR
Slot #2 Module G.Skill 16384 MB (DDR4-2666) - XMP 2.0 - P/N: F4-3600C18-16GTZR
I have XMP enabled.
The Ram is actually 3600Mhz CL18. With XMP enabled.
The 2666Mhz are default clocks. If I didn't have XMP enabled, they would be at 2666Mhz.
Like I said, if it has anything to do with increasing clocks, etc, I have no clue. Good thing I have an "F" processor.
Ok yeah, because I was going to say, don't you have 3200Mhz ram? You must have XMP enabled.
If you did a CPU-Z validation, I am sure you would see your ram says DDR4-2666 as well.
An "F" processor just means that it does not have integrated graphics. The fact that it doesn't have a "K' means that it is locked.
I have a 10700KF. That means it is unlocked and doesn't have integrated graphics. The 10700K is unlocked but does have integrated graphics.
Saved a few bucks by getting processor without integrated graphics. In fact, I bought my 10700KF last August for $290. I haven't seen a 10700K or KF near that price since.
Edit: Actually it is $310 right now on Amazon. Cheapest I have seen in awhile. At the beginning of 2021, or the end of 2022, I think it had got as low as $250. But I haven't seen it that price in a while.
I think I paid $250 him for an i9-10900F, new in the box w cooler.
Ok. You were talking about clocks, and then said good thing you have an "F" processor. So I didn't know if you knew or not that "F" just stands for not having integrated graphics and has nothing to do with clocks.
But, a 10900F for $250 does sound a like a good deal. Did you use that stock cooler?
Was just implying that I would be less implied to do anything crazy without a K cpu. :)
