there should be third party tools that force games to run in a 3d mode, you than pair that with a vr headset as im assuming the glasses you use or drivers for the videocard wont play well with active shutter glasses, though there may be another option in the light field tablet, a company working on making a 2d screen project a 3d image that changes depending on how you view the screen apparently came to market with a tablet relatively recently, I can't speak to quality as I dont have the tablet in hands, but anyone who has seen the prototype displays in person was 'blown away' by what they can do, think of it like an advanced 3ds screen but without the need for perfect viewing angles.
tldr, you want a program to force stereoscopic rendering, I think its 15-30$ and vr as your best bet for 3d gaming/video.
I do have VR for gaming, but I was trying to play 3D on my computer and screen, so I am looking for a program or third part software that will let me play 3D again. It sucked when Nvidia quit support and took away 3D SterioScopic for the 3080 series cards.
I think thats for watching Movies. I appreciate it though! I am trying to paly 3D games again on my computer and screen, so i am looking for a program that will allow me to do that with my 3080 GTX, bc Nvidia took away SterioScopic. I dont care if I have to buy one. If you know of any please let me know. Thanks again
there is a good chance you will need to use old style 3d glasses, red/blue, green/magenta, dark blue/dark red unless you can find an active glasses that will work.
honestly, forceing 3d in vr is probably the only way going forward for 3d in 2d games.
I still would need a program regardless to get my 3d playing in with games. Hopefully someone figures this out bc I love playing in 3d. I can use my 1660Ti with 3d-fixmanager, but I cant with my 3080 bc the driver fails to install :(
not sure how good this is, https://www.vorpx.com/ was what I was looking at a long time ago before vr ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me on os requirements.
Thats for VR. I am trying to PC game. Thanks though
I know, but like I have been saying, I dont think you are going to get it on pc, the market for 3d with glasses died due to studios putting out ♥♥♥♥ post conversions rather than actually making them 3d, so the movies dont push it, but vr and ar will which is where you are going to see 3d again, or its possible that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riJAYgYwCXY will also make 3d a thing for normal people if this is the tech/company I think it is.
Read that old thread! No longer works anymore. take time to read thoroughly!! 💪🏿😂
Never thought about a Virtual machine. Thanks. Maybe I will try that. I already rolled back my driver on my 1660TI and play 3D on them, but I would love to play with my 3080 PC!! 3D FixManager will not work on my 3080 ugh!!
Nice!!
the main thing I wonder about with the tablet is resolution and if its a solo experience or if more than one person can see it at a time, because ill be honest, we have had solo 3d for a LONG time but no one has ever done anything with it, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd3-eiid-Uw I always wondered why, because even just a small amout of movement with your head would trick you into thinking its 3d, I don't have a good example, but think stereoscopic vision, except it flips between the two images, while the display is still 2d it makes the image look 3d, that's what this stuff does just not as jumpy, if a 3d object accurately moves according to head position it looks VERY 3d, the only problem is it only works with 1 person at a time. point of this is, I know when the people who made light field displays made demo units, 1080p was noticeably low resolution, but the 8k one they had was fantastic, and I doubt they have an 8k tablet screen or that a tablet processor could handle the various rendering tasks, or even that they have the bank to make an asic for this tablet before it took a mass market appeal.
but yea, if you do get 3d to work outside of just nvidia stuff, I would love to know, I wanted 3d vision before it came out, but when it did it was a vista only thing at a time where vista was garbage, and by the time I moved to 7 3d was largely already dead in the consumer space.
