EVO 980 PRO with heatsink for ASUS FX505DU?
I have an ASUS FX505DU laptop and I am very tempted to upgrade it's main storage, which currently stands at a paltry 256gb SSD. I am interested in a Samsung EVO 980 PRO with heatsink SSD, but I am not sure if it fits inside my laptop.

Does anyone have any idea on this?

You might want to call customer service and double-check before investing your time and money.I have used the 980 Pro in the past (512 GB) and although it didn't run really really hot, I also kept it under an aluminum heat sink with thermal pad so if it's possible for you, yes, get one. I would ask if one can fit in there--the support tab is on the same page at the top.

You’ve just gotta crack it open, measure/assess how much space there is inside and check against the published dimensions.

Is the heat sink really needed though? I’ve only got one cos it looks pretty!

Won't probably not help in a laptop as most likely there is no airflow in the area where the SSD is mounted.
