Use the DDU App and then go to safe mode, use DDU to wipe all GPU Drivers.
Then tick the option for "Disable Windows Auto Driver Installer"
Clean the GPU Drivers, then reboot.
Download and install GPU Driver from NVIDIA.com afterwards.

Scroll down to NVIDIA Display Container LS and check its status. If it's disabled, right-click on NV Disp. Container and then click Properties. You can then set its startup to Automatic. Edit: then click Apply.
If the service is missing altogether, then yeah, it's driver-related. You will need to reinstall the driver. I would not bother with getting it from the Store.
Its up to you to disable, wipe that out and then get the stand-alone driver from NVIDIA.
Windows OS is never going to do that for you.
Not sure about Win 10, but on Win 11, all new Nvidia drivers install the Windows Store version of NCP.
and install the one from nvidia yourself
It's the same on Windows 10 FYI.
Have you made sure that the app is installed?

I was using 373.06 with Windows 7, and when I first moved on from it (to Windows 10), I initially went to use that same version. It works fine, other than that once I restart the system, I lose access to the nVidia control panel. I reinstalled drivers a couple times and it was the same thing. I had to update my drivers to get consistent access to the nVidia control panel again.
Then you guys are doing something wrong. I've never had that happen in Win10.
You have to disable Windows ability to handle/auto update your Drivers. Its that simple.
Its one of the first things to do on a Gaming PC if you want to handle Drivers yourself.
We use DDU to do that; makes everything simple and quick to do.
Why did you quote me for that?
I was talking about the Nvidia Control Panel app for windows 10
IE. this one
