The AppX (Windows Store App) NCP is included in the DCH driver package under Display.Driver\NVCPL
Try both driver install types and let it connect to the internet. if that doesn't get it manually try getting it from the microsoft store and if you're not up to date try updating, maybe Windows will get it for you. If you haven't used DDU try it in this case.
Also have you used any programs that like automate screwing with Windows setting? like those privacy applications that you hit a button and they disable a bunch of stuff?
DCH installed drivers do not come with the control panel, that will be installed shortly after install via Windows Update.
Standard drivers include the control panel and no update is needed.
As some have said already its best to not allow driver updates because the microsoft ones often screw things up, why? god knows, i guess they fiddle with them somewhat for their own purposes so its easy for the dumber amongst us. That said, if like me you have driver updates disabled then you need to install Standard Driver packages only with the help of DDU.
When I allow the NV Ctl Panel to run, I also see it in the System tray, lower right-hand side (edit: on your taskbar) -click on the little up-arrow there. Do you see the green NV icon in your Sys tray? If so, if you right- or left-click on that icon, does it open then?
Standard and DCH drivers are on the nvidia download page, to get standard look on lower half of page choose the option for beta and older drivers and fill in search boxes changing the driver type to standard or dch as required.
Sorry, you are correct. Yes I was used to using the "Standard" Driver Version for so long I forgot they made that change. Yes it's not a big deal just that it's lesser easier accessible then being part of the right click menu on your Desktop. Or the Tray Icon.
Oh, OK. No, I didn't look at the reviews b/c my experiences with the Microsoft Store have been uniformly crappy.
Although I very rarely use it, for me there is no substitute for the NV Control Panel. I get mine thru the NV driver installation and disable the service afterward until the situation calls for it.
Edit: to limit frames, though, I use Riva Tuner Statistics Server--it's more convenient than clicking and clacking to get to the Control Panel.
