G305 Battery connectivity issues
anyone else had issues with their AA battery randomly shutting off and having to remove the case, to resit it? according to G-Hub the battery life is full. and it's happening with every battery i've tried. haven't seen much about this anywhere and logitech wants me to "prove" it
for a refund. been waiting over 2 weeks for a response after sending them a video of the issue happening first hand. not sure if they'll even reply at this point.

are there any "fixes" for this?
i'v heard of people putting tinfoil around a battery to help it sit better on other mice
not really interested in buying another after there objectively bad customer support

what kind of battery are you using?
rechargeable nimh/nicd are 1.2v, which is lower than alkaline 1.5v

an alkaline should last 2-4 months in the g305 mouse

in ghub is there a firmware update for the mouse?
I am using a G305 and I don't have that issue.

It has happened to me where the mouse begins to shut off when the battery gets really low, but then replacing it with a full battery resolves the issue.

You are using the Logitech Gaming Software?

Edit: Ok, you said you are using G Hub. See I don't use G Hub for my Logitech stuff. I just use the traditional Logitech Gaming Software. I never used G Hub. But I assume it would be fine? IDK, the regular Logitech Gaming Software has been working fine for years, so I don't see the point upgrading to G Hub, or whatever.

g305 does not support lgs
with ghub you can save a profile to the mouse, and exit ghub, and remove it from startup, to keep that profile in the mouse for every pc its used with

on mine, i set the mouse dpi to a fixed setting, and changed the dpi button bind to show battery level (led on mouse)
and saved the profile to the mouse, and disabled ghub from startup and exited ghub

Yes it does. I should know I am using it right now with lgs. It works just fine with logitech gaming software.

And I don't mean G Hub. I am not using G Hub.

i'v tried Energizer max AM3-1.5V and Panasonic UM-3NP 1.5v
nether are rechargeable. And i just bought both of them.

also i just downloaded Ghub (didn't even know it was a thing until yesterday)
to check the battery percentage, they both claim to be full.
then it randomly shuts off.

like right now, it's working perfectly. but all of a sudden it will just shut off
it's completely random.

i'v even seen ghub's battery indicator go from full - half - red in a few seconds then shut off
and seen it stay at full for hours like right now.

i ended up buying a new mouse. i couldn't fix it and logitech wouldn't honor their warranty.

i could suggest cleaning the battery compartment and pulling out the male coil a "tiny bit"
so that it makes a proper connection, other then that if it still doesn't work. then you'll probably need to get a new mouse.

check with logitech's support and see if you can get a replacement.
that said, they look for any reason to not send you a replacement in my experience.
i ordered a new one, this ♥♥♥♥ is so annoying, cleaning the compartment and pulling the coil didnt make a difference. on a old forum i saw that the g305 has problems with lithium batteries, because the battery sensor cant read lithium battery levels propperly, when the battery is slightly used this problem can occur. i ordered a new one, because of this problem i smashed my mouse a lot and the body of the mouse broke :/

yeah it is what it is. these g305(s) are pretty common to have ether battery issues or input issues
after a little while. the annoying part is that they don't seem to want to honor their warranty.

i moved on to corsair
this is the mouse i currently use.
more or less the same as a g305 but so far it has no issues

haha cheers, hopefully that one lasts :steamhappy:
If anyone does come across this issue, I had the same problem with my G305, regardless of the type of battery or size I used (AA or AAA with an adaptor). What seems to have been the issue for me was the positive terminal in the mouse was providing a poor connection. To solve it I took the metal clip form a pen (or any other small piece of flat, folded metal) and wrapped that over the existing positive terminal in the mouse to provided a larger connection surface. It's working a charm so far.

Devices that take any kind of replaceable battery, you should clean the battery area with contact cleaner spray every once in a while; like maybe once every 6-12 months or as feel needed. If you've gone through a lot of batteries with a single device, gently stretch the springs if there are any. When you change batteries, inspect the battery compartment for any leakage or dried residue from the previous batteries.
