No, it will not void the warranty, Dell replace my faulty keyboard after upgrading to a SSD, if you just open up the notebook and look inside. You can even perform upgrades without voiding the warranty. But if you go inside and while looking or performing any upgrade and damage the computer, that is not covered by warranty.
This is the ASUS warranty. https://www.asus.com/support/images/upload/5110447d-99b0-4c74-9953-6609ebd84c3a.pdf
If you look at Statutory Rights, and then 1. General, it says they won't cover any damage you may cause by improper installation.
I would still contact them.
Then you'll have to contact them and deal with it to plead your case if you do have an issue.
Bunny, chill. Stop overthinking it.
Contacting Asus will only confirm what we already know.
Just install the new SSD, your warranty will not be voided by doing so. And it is very hard to do it wrong, a toddler could do it.
Don't worry about it and just slap that new SSD in there.
If you have shaky hands take the laptop to the PC shop where you buy the SSD and they will install it for you, it should only take a few minutes.
Upgrading that laptop looks extremely easy compared to Most.
As long as you are careful it should be just fine.
Though personally i would remove the battery before any work is done on the laptop, if able to do so.
You might not be able to remove it
Since the guy in the youtube vid didnt take his out it may not be possible.
That feature is found just as often on normal mid-range laptops as it is on high-end gaming laptops.
