I played ROTTR on ultra with my setup, no FPS issues whatsoever.
I knew you would bring the "optimization" issue here. Everybody does.
Optimization or DRM or any other issue, they are always part of the gaming. That fact remain same. If you wanna play new games at 60 fps ultra. Then Gtx 1060 is not enough.
You need a gtx 1070/ 1080 for that. They can run all games 60 fps ultra. Optimized or not. That's what people need.
It's you that don't show proofs playing the games I wrote you 60+ fps ultra settings.
Deus Ex Mankind Divided needs a GTX 1080 to get 60 fps on ultra 1080p. I had GTX 1060 6gb, it runs 50 fps at high settings. With my current GTX 1080 I could hover around 60 fps on ultra at 1080p.
Arc in the early days was badly optimised, it looked like crap, and ran even worse.
95% of the time I see people say badly optimised it just tells me they don't know what they are on about, there is no way to make a hugely detailed full open world run on a potato.
People like to say Witcher 3 at this point, but the draw distance, speed of travel through the world and number of models on screen at any one time is pretty low, and if you go racing into a town at full speed on a horse you will see textures still loading, namely furs etc.
Back on topic, a 3GB card will severely limit its life the way games are pushing higher and higher textures, adding mods to games and 3GB can be used up very fast, look to go to 1440 or god forbid 4k and 3GB is not enough.
Sure, run the games at lower settings on your brand new card because you saved 50 bucks over the next 2-3 years, seems like a great plan overall.
Found this proof, Evil Within 2, skip to 1 min when he exits the house and comes to the Open World-

The price should be around 180-240...

When a developer has an amazing looking game and chooses not to make it look like crap so it runs maxed out on low end kit but needs high end kit, does not make it badly optimised.
Badly optimised us when things look like crap and run like crap.
I fail to see how this is so complicated.
Edit.
I don't think a maxed out wolvenstein will even run on a 1060 will it with its 8k textures?
Something similiar to most of Ubi games that arent optimised well.
