Nacon Revolution Pro, Gyro? Steam Configuration?
It seems that whenever I find a viable controller there is something horribly wrong with it, as though there is some vast conspiracy to force pc gamers into using a mouse/kb.

The Xbox One controller lacks a gyro, so accurate aiming is off the table. Wired use is also null and void due to the micro usb port design (the designer of which is clearly into mass sadism), leading to frequent loose cables and lost connections. The one thing this controller does well is incredible ergonomics/feel, everything is in the right place and nearly every button is easy to depress (aside from the thumsticks).

The Steam controller is a pc gamers wet dream for feature set. The problem is many games don't support the use of a mouse and keyboard simultaneously, making configuration a long drawn out process. The other massive problem is the horrible ergonomics, some people like it, but they are a vocal minority, not nearly the same universal approval as the Xbox One controller.

The PS4 controller is a good middle ground, better ergonomics than the Steam controller, gyro and touchpad that the Xbox One controller doesn't have, it's a reasonable all rounder but it does nothing exceedingly well. It's a great option for games that require precise aiming as well as 3rd person environment navigation on foot or in vehicles (Just Cause, Gta, etc).

The Nacon Revolution Pro was supposed to be the controller that did everything exceedingly well, Xbox One ergonomics with the entire Dualshock 4 feature set. What more could a pc gamer controller advocate possibly want? From what I hear though they completely dropped the ball. The Nacon Rev apparently doesn't register as a Dualshock 4 to be configured via the Steam controller configuration, and even if it does have a gyro (can't confirm that based on my research), it would only be configurable if it was natively recognized as a Dualshock 4 in Steam.

Is anyone else tired of making sacrifices in a controller? Anyone else tired of seeing $100+ products hit the market (Xb Elite, Nacon Rev) that promise so much and deliver so exceedingly little (oh goody 2 extra buttons, you've really created a product worth 3 times the price of an oem controller). There is no way that all of these complete %#*#ups are a coincidental result of poorly conceived products on a mass scale. It's becoming clear that Keyboard/Mouse manufacturers are doing whatever they can to sabotage this pc gamer's dream of owning a competent controller.

Seriously, I don't give a toss about the costs, give me a near perfect controller for pc gaming and you can charge me 500$ for it, so long as it is built like a tank and includes a lifetime warranty. Design it exactly like the Xbox One controller with less pressure required to activate the thumb stick buttons, a fully enabled gyro, and have it recognized in the Steam controller configurator as a Dualshock 4. Then you can have my 500$, should be more than enough to offset the kickback you are getting from KB/M manufacturers to intentionally limit the functionality of controllers on pc ;)

I like my couch, I like my 120" inch projection screen, I like my controller, and I like 60fps gaming, take your mouse keyboard combos and shove them wherever you choose, they are functionally useless to me.

Almost. The lack of an R stick hurts in some games. The track pad simulation will never be a substitute for an R stick. I don't mind in FPS like battlefield etc, but in games like Assassins Creed or Shadow of Mordor or Rocket League it drives me nuts trying to camera with it.

My ideal controller would be an Xboxone controller with Gryo's, Alternate buttons that can be mapped as extra's on the bottom, and some sort of durability enhancement on the Sticks to keep them from wearing down. Also the L3 R3 clicks would not be a micro switch but rather a pad type button as the X A B Y buttons are. Oh and dual stage triggers ( which the STEAM controller has )

You can keep your trackpad, and don't take away my battery pack or wired/wireless options.

Same boat dude I agree 100%
I'm looking at the flydigi apex 4. I've been using my steam deck as a controller by remote playing everything and turning hr volume off and screen brightness all the way down
