MSI GeForce RTX 3070 fan curve
Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone else here using the specific GPU. What are your temps like? Mine is approx 65 under heavy load and i am using custom fan curve in which the max speed is 70%.

Just wanna know that is it safe to run the card with that kind of fan speed while gaming or should i run the card with stock settings where the temp is 70 under heavy load? I am aiming to get long lifespan for the GPU.

Is that a Ventures 3x card? I have one for mining. Fan speed set to 85 and temp is around 62

Card is almost 1 month old. I have Aorus one as well. It is quite better than MSI one.

Those temps are okay. If you concern on heat. Increase fan speed slightly
If your gpu temp drops below 70 degrees while gaming, you are doing it wrong.

Case design
Case fans
Fan placement
Fan orientation
Fan curve

All affects temps. Take the exact same card doing the exact same thing but with different Cases, Case fans, Fan placements, Fan orientation and fan curves and you'd get different temps. Could be lower or higher than 70.

if YOUR temps are always above 70 then maybe YOU are doing something wrong

1st april joke? Little late for it. Lower is always better. Best thing you do is to keep it below 50°C.

It won't happen anyway.

Its possible on air cooling. 3000 series blocks are very good.

My 3080 ftw3 ultra had avg 47°C while running a timespy run and 450w powerlimit.
19905 gpu score is nice if you think about avg 3090 gpu score is 19924.

I'm running a custom fan curve on my EVGA RTX 3070 FTW3. A similar sized triple-fan card. Looking at HWinfo, my max temperature today has been 66.3 and the hotspot max was 78.2. When I was using the default fan speeds, the temperatures were around 10 degrees higher.

I wouldn't worry unless the main temperature started hitting 90 or more.

Thanks! I will record my temps when i play BFV next time.

Would it be possible to share your fan curve? If not, I understand.

Keep in mind even if they do there is no guarantee you get same results. GPUs like CPUs have small differences during production that can affect things like that.

You also have to consider what I said in an earlier post about various other aspects of a system can affect a cards cooling

There is no curve, my cards run always on 100% fan speed.

Also important is ambient temperature but right case and fans make a huge impact. In my 1000D i have 16 intake fans.

Normal fan settings looks more like 59°C and ~23°C ambient. Fun part i had less avg clock because of temps but higher score then avg 3090

As usual I missed something :steamfacepalm: Ambient can make a huge difference. Especially when comparing winter to summer temps which can be 20 or more depending on location. My fans run around 500 RPM more in the warmer whether to maintain similar temps.

Have 12 in case. Half for a 360mm rad in push/pull config. I feel more fans running slow = less noise than running less fans faster.
