What exactly Radeon™ Software Adrenalin does?

Does it help to keep the drivers updated? Or its use is more complex than that?

Adrenalin IS the driver software. You can control the GPU fans, clocks, graphics settings, etc. all in that program. No need for MSI afterburner.

I mean I don't want to overclock or change any settings, I just want my drivers updated and I thought that maybe installing that software would help in that.

Given your specs you should...

Update to latest non beta motherboard bios.

Update to latest drivers for AMD AM4 Chipset and AMD GPU (Adrenalin)

Along with Win10 64bit 20H2

You leave us having to guess your system specs, if you don't post them.
For example, if you use an older AMD card, you may want to use the Catalyst driver package, but if you're not having any problems, you should not be doing anything at all.

Only if you have problems running software. A lot of cards already come with drivers the manufacturer made specifically for that model, and older drivers may give you a higher performance than installing the latest drivers. So you may not want to install anything at all, unless you experience issues.

Yes most of times it's very important update your drivers and even bios of your motherboard, i have by exemple i5-10040f with ASUS TUF GTX 1650 4GB OC, 16GB memory ram and my motherboard is ASUS ROG STRIX B460-G Gaming, for me my motherboard have a software named armoury crate that may be simliar to your software of AMD, nowadays every nivdia or amd/or intel has every programas to keep all up-to date and vice-versa, simliar to NIVDIA Experience that is to keep drivers updated for GPU though and thing, keep all updated its important becuase you will have more performance increase as too security and stability for both run newer games that needs to have first drivers updated before running/playing in general, its anyways very important keep your PC System updated, thats how i anyways do for sure

Tell us your mobo and GPU info, regardless, you'd need to install the driver (Adrenalin 21.3.2). Drivers are part of the package for GPU's, your OS needs the driver in order for the GPU to perform as it should. Adrenalin drivers these days are pretty good, you can use it to adjust your fan speed for better cooling, I'd adjusted mine to a more aggressive fan curve for better cooling, I don't care about fan noise as (for me) better cooling trumps sound.

Since you're on an AMD CPU as well, you should install the appropriate chipset driver for your mobo to get the best performance out of it. Yes, Windows would install some generic drivers for your chipset, but these may not be the best, or the most compatible.

I have both an X570 mobo and the RX 6900 XT, I've updated the BIOS and chipset driver for my mobo, and my GPU driver is the Adrenalin 21.3.1, I didn't update to 21.3.2 because I've had no issue with games with the older driver, so I'm sticking to it.

No one needs Driver update finding software.
Its very simple to find the drivers based on your board.

Lets say your board has:
> Intel Chipset
> Intel NVME
> Realtek HD Audio
> Intel GBE Wired LAN
> Intel (model #) WiFi + BT

^ The first 2 are self explanitory; Google that, and download the latest driver, very simple.
^ The last 3, well they will listed in Device Manager, if for some reason are not, get the name from the Motherboard Makers Specs page for your exact model of Motherboard. Google the model name of each of your Audio, LAN, WiFi and download the drivers from THOSE makers. Not the makers of your Motherboard.

Adrenalin, when it's running on my system causes random black screens and graphics card driver crashes.

Keep the driver updated if you want but there's no real need to install the Adrenlin part of the package. Unless you want the overclocking features.

its equilivant to GEFORCE experience optimizes games and keep drivers up to date

But GFE is optional, AMD Adrenaline is not as its a direct part of the Driver Suite.
