Graphics card is Funky
So I have various bits of information on this card. It is a Asus GTX 760 4gb with ACX cooler. Whenever I install and load into windows it defaults the screen setting registered by my monitor as 1024x768 and 4:3 aspect ratio but windows reads it as 1920x1080 and it is locked and cannot be changed. It either is registered in windows as a GTX 760 with no drivers, a windows graphics card (system uses a Ryzen 5 3600 no integrated graphics) or it is not registered in windows at all. I got the system to prompt to install drivers but it installs them, after two seconds you can see it change from “working properly” to “error 43” and then black screen and repeat. Nvidia driver install did nothing to help and last bit of information I found was through GPUz it is registered as the correct card, but is registered with 0mbs of vram while my other card is registered with 2gb of vram. Does this card need a fresh bios update or something or is the card simply broken broken?

The GPU is faulty, you must replace it.

Did you register your GPU with EVGA.com back when it was new?
What warranty coverage do you have for it?
It's possible to get an RMA replacement for your GPU from EVGA if you had the 10 year warranty. They would replace it using whatever is current, such as GTX 1650/1660

I bought it second hand because I’m trying to make a second pc for my dad is it possible that it’s a bios issue because it seems like it just hates the graphics drivers which are the main problem for the black screen
Which OS are you using?

Are you sure it's a real GTX 760 and not a fake with a flashed BIOS?

You know I thought of that but the stickers on the card match the bios close enough the resolution wasn’t good enough to read well but the cooler also fits the card without big gaps in the cooler or anything

I did however notice there is a switch on the back of the card where there are 2 switches on the block with 1/2 on the one side, opposite of that is “ON” ans on the side is 3/4 both were flipped to the 1/2 side
If you install the official driver from nvidia and then reboot the system and still end up with "Code 43" in the device manager for that GPU; trust me, it's a dead GPU.

And since that is most likely the case, you can grab the latest BIOS for that exact GPU easily by running an app called GPU-Z[www.techpowerup.com] then do a BIOS lookup, download the latest version (as it will take you to a webpage for your exact Device ID and thus exact model of branded GPU. And then re-flash it. Then use an app called DDU (Display Driver Installer) and follow these steps for its use of wiping everything to do with all GPU Drivers and GPU related software on that system. Thus ensuring the ability to do a clean GPU driver reinstall after a wipe with DDU

Thanks I haven’t been able to figure out how to flash the bios yet
