I want to know if it will run directx 12 games ?

I searched the cards spec and techpowerup has this info (i can link the page if you want) Graphics Features

what does the info mean ?
is it able to run directx 12 games ?

roll on when gpu's will be available as I have the money to buy a modern card

Cheers for any info.

It means you only support directx 11 hardware acceleration. You only support directx 12 through the windows desktop in a software layer. You won't be playing directx 12 because you lack hardware acceleration. You need a directx 12 hardware accelerated GPU like a gtx960 or 1050/1030.
That means that you only support up to DirectX 11.1.
You will not be able to run games that require DirectX12.

7970 is the limiting factor
win50 may support dx30+ but if the gpu only has instructions to 11.1, thats all it can do

Your card does have DirectX 12 support, but only partial support. Do not confuse "Feature level 11_1" with DirectX 11.1, they are both two seperate things.

The card does have full Vulkan support and this could be used to run DirectX12 with the latest feature level over Vulkan.

This card could even do ray tracing in games under MESA. Although it is still experimental.

But Mesa drivers are for Linux.

But does dxvk work on Windows?
Thought it was just to make windows games work under Linux?

And don't forget anti-cheat

And a rtx 2060 already struggles with raytracing, what do you expect from a radeon hd?

Mesa can also be build for Windows.

DXVK and VKD3D run through WINE, they are not native Linux apps. They also work on Windows as they are just normal Windows .dll files. Functionality under Windows is not tested much, there are most certainly bugs and issues. Last I heard latest AMD drivers on Windows do a decent job at running DXVK.

Dump these .dll files in any DirectX game directory and it should start using Vulkan instead.

I'd expect the Radeon to render a teapot at ~30 fps.

They really work on windows?
Thanks gonna try it.

NEVER experienced Mesa drivers crashing in my almost 100 hours Linux gaming

It isn't like the official windows drivers are bad (they also give you the very nice driver settings and Corectrl only replaces the frequency settings), but Mesa are Rock solid on my RX 580.

^ This does work.

This was the fix people have had to do to get Mafia: Remastered to run properly.

This moment when an open source driver which wasn't even made for windows in mind runs better than the official amd windows driver...

I think BM is refering to DXVK. Mesa on Windows is still very experimental.
Yes I am referring to the DXVK DLL files. Many folks who bought a game such as MAFIA Remasted Edition could not get it to run properly without those DLL files.

I'm running the game fine on Win7 and 8.1 now thanks to the open source DXVK 1.9.2
