Sharpness randomly change in games from a day to another
Hello guys

I really need help from a specialist because I'm getting desperate.
I don't manage to resolve a very strange uncommon problem with my games.
Sharpness of my games (and global looking) randomly change, depending on when I play them, and this without changing any in-game or nvidia/windows settings.
Example: I played forza horizon 5 yesterday and it was perfect looking, everything maxed out in 4K with msaa x2.
I play it today and I can see someting is different, the game is too sharp (less natural) and the global looking is less good.
I play in 4K and I'm very sensitive so I can automatically see that something has changed but no way to find what exactly.
It occurs with all games. Sometimes it's different, games look more fuzzy/blurry like less detailed, sometimes washed out.
I cannot manage to keep identic games looking from a day to another

Here's what i tried so far without success (it always ends up coming back)
- Changed monitor (I have lg 27gp950-b now) / Display port cable / hdmi)
- Reinstalled W10 / Tried with W11
- Tried many nvidia drivers
- Disabled all potential conflicted programs/settings (game mode/ antivirus/power mangement mode, etc...)
- Tried every nvidia panel control possible settings
- And many other things that I don't remember right now

I'm still asking if it's an software or hardware issue, here's my config
- Asus prime x570-p
- Ryzen 3700x
- RTX 3080
- Corsair Vengeance LPX 16Go (2x8Go) DDR4 3200MHz

Heartfelt thank you to the one who will help me

nice
Nvidia drivers do that when you exceed vram. How much vram are you using? Rtx3080 is too weak for 4k in my opinion you'll need ti or 3090.
disable dsr in nvidia control panel

its a 4k display
may be too high for the gtx3080 to play games with a good fps maxed
lower settings, or play at 1920x1080, which will scale nicely to 4k, evenly double pixeled
How do you explain, sometimes it looks great and other day, as soon as i start my computer for play, the problem occur ? On some games, the vram is not exceeded when I check and the issue occurs anyway. I have dsr disabled is nvidia control panel

or clean your glasses
ok... go away if dont wanna help
you're loosing your time and mine
are games set to run at the native res or 1080p?

if it picks 1440p or other res it will be stretched unevenly and look blurry

It's called compression and all Nvidia cards do it when resources are low. Slow storage device, slow ram, slow CPU, low vram etcetera...

But it's usually vram that causes it.
or are you using hdmi?
use dp on any display higher than 1080p60
I can try to lower textures settings. It should free some vram
Your real issue is trying to run 4k with rtx3080. You should be running lower resolution and higher fps and graphics. 4k is 3090.
There are only few game which require more than10gb of vram in 4k
I don't think it can be a problem on old games or well optimized games

many older games are not intended to be scaled up to 4k
where the ui and elements would be misplaced or scaled wrong

look up games at wsgf.org to see scaling problems and fixes for most games
Could be windows scaling? i dont know I am also facing the same problem. If i exit and re-enter any games they appear sharper. Were you able to fix the issue?
If you use fullscreen, try disabling fullscreen optimizations. But when you do that, it may also disable or wash out HDR.

Also keep in mind that monitors have their own scalers and upscaling. If you hate it, you can disable it.

Typically the GPU is supposed to be able to tell the monitor NOT to upscale, but you know -- it's Windows...bugs happen all the time and that can be your issue.

If it is you can just use the monitor's settings and adjust sharpness there (or turn off the monitor's upscaling / filtering if it has it available). Monitors marketed for PS / Xbox compatibility usually have the ability to turn it on and off.
