Controller not working with non-steam game using steam link.

Any suggestion I've tried everything in the past posts.
Steam as admin.
Lots of setup in menus nothing is working.
Anyone know a simple work around?

First go onto the host gaming pc, launch steam and add non-steam games to your library listing. Then launch steam big picture mode and configure the controller for said game, even a non-steam game. Once done now it should all work via Steam Link as it will be using the library and controller config that's on the host pc. If still has issues, go onto the host PC, right click game in library and go to properties and enable the forced option for other controllers such as XBOX/PS4/PS5
