they admitted their new cooler design is sub par.the founders edition cards are a poor
design and i highly doubt it will remain in the 4000 series.to answer OP question 70-80c

Well ACTUALLY
FE coolers dont suck as much as they used to.
i'd be pissed.
Pointing a fan at the back plate can drop the temp notably.
Nvidia engineers aren't stupid, they have endless safety features in chips now and they set up throttling abd powering down well before the chips get anywhere close to dangerous temperatures.
As for the FE cooling performance, it's, actually freaking incredible, keeps it at 50c, while my strix hits 60-65c, sure the strix uses 150w more power, but clockwise, the FE is ahead as it runs cooler.
Zero point in buying high end model gpu's now unless you plan to watercool as the added power increases heat which drops the clocks.
In my book, I agree with your statement. Context is tricky.
