70-78C on VRAM too hot?
My gpu temp is only 55C though pretty good imo but im just not too sure about the VRAM temp and yes i was overclocking my memory was on +800 when i remove my front panel it only gives me around 70 when i started and went up by 4 after a few hours but anyway since it was on 78 when panel was on i decided to remove it as it may reach 80 and i believe thats hot on gpu temp side so im assuming its also hot on VRAM?

It should be within spec. When it comes to the RTX 3000 series, NVIDIA allegedly states that VRAM temperatures meeting and exceeding 100 degrees is "still within spec."

ah mines actually the 2000 Series its actually my 1st time doing so after owning my gpu for almost 2 years now still under warranty but just scared that it may not last till i replace my gpu lol which i plan to do after well 4000 series come

warm, not hot
worry at 90-100c

If temps drop that much with the panel off then you might want to look into increasing case airflow some how, whether it be better or more fans or a better case.

But removing the panel is free, so that works also.

As mentioned though, thats likely within spec.

Worry when it goes over 95c as that's the max recommended temp for gddr6.

It is fine. I play games and my hardware temperature goes up too.

keyword:ALLEGEDLY of course they would say that or there would be a massive recall if
they admitted their new cooler design is sub par.the founders edition cards are a poor
design and i highly doubt it will remain in the 4000 series.to answer OP question 70-80c
is fine.

Well ACTUALLY
FE coolers dont suck as much as they used to.

For chip cooling they are fine. Better then last gens FE models but for vrm temp yes they suck. Every day there are post about people who hit easy 110°C vram junction temp.

thats what ive seen as well, also read its causing the cards to throttle as well thats unacceptable.
i'd be pissed.

It's only hitting over 100c on 3090'sabd then only on half the ram abd finally, only when mining.

Pointing a fan at the back plate can drop the temp notably.

Nvidia engineers aren't stupid, they have endless safety features in chips now and they set up throttling abd powering down well before the chips get anywhere close to dangerous temperatures.

As for the FE cooling performance, it's, actually freaking incredible, keeps it at 50c, while my strix hits 60-65c, sure the strix uses 150w more power, but clockwise, the FE is ahead as it runs cooler.

Zero point in buying high end model gpu's now unless you plan to watercool as the added power increases heat which drops the clocks.

That doesn't mean 100 °C is in a normal operational rating range. Absolute Maximum Rating means the testing setup pushed the component to the point where it is stressed and functioning.

In my book, I agree with your statement. Context is tricky.
