Will enabling AMD's VSR (Virtual Super Resolution) be safe for my PC?
Hello, I am thinking of enabling VSR in order for my monitor to run on a non-native resolution for Anti-aliasing purposes.

My PC is rocking an AMD RX 560 2GB and my monitor is a quite old LG Flatron E2350V running on a native resolution of 1920x1080.

The question is, will I encounter any problems running on a non-native resolution? Thanks!

VSR won't hurt your PC or monitor. basically it makes your GPU render each frame at the higher resolution and then downsamples it to the actual resolution of your monitor.

Keep in mind using VSR will increase GPU use. If you can only get 60 fps at 1080p for a specific game trying to use VSR to run it at 1440p/4K will cause a big drop in fps. The same as if you were actually using a 144p/4k monitor. more so, as it has to downsample it back to 1080p.

To be blunt, an rx560 isn't powerful enough to run anything beyond 1080p and going for a higher resolution downsampled is way more taxing than pretty much any AA tech, plus, 2GB of vram is likely to be insufficient.

Update: everything went fine and VSR is working perfectly. I did not see any rise in temperatures and framerate is nearly the same.

Because you haven't increased the resolution yet. (Increase the resolution in-game, not on the desktop)
